It's long been obvious to most Americans that pretty much everything the felon in chief spouts is bluster and baloney. There are some who've convinced themselves otherwise but their position continues to erode out from under them. They shore it up with willful ignorance and bluster of their own.

QuoteDonald Trump Doubles Down on Mathematically Impossible Drug Price Cuts

President Donald Trump has doubled down on his claim of reducing drug prices by amounts that are mathematically impossible.

Trump told reporters on Sunday that his administration had cut the price of some prescription drugs by as much as 1,500 percent.

"Well, one of the things they're going to be talking about pretty soon are the tremendous drop in drug prices. You know, we've cut drug prices by 1,200, 1,300, 1,400, 1,500 percent. I don't mean 50 percent. I mean 14-, 1,500 percent," the president said.

When asked to clarify the president's remarks, White House spokesperson Kush Desai told Newsweek, "It's an objective fact that Americans are paying exponentially more for the same exact drugs as people in other developed countries pay, and it's an objective fact that no other Administration has done more to rectify this unfair burden for the American people."

if a prescription of some drug formerly cost $100, the new price according to trump is -$1400, which means that when you purchase it, you get the drugs and a cash payment too, of 14 times the amount it formerly cost.

way to go, america!

Just be happy.

I suggest that instead of killing helpless, shipwrecked survivors in the Caribbean, we rescue them and see what intelligence we can gather. Well, unless you are afraid that you would find no cocaine, no cartel involvement, etc. In that case .....

Even if they were carrying drugs, they are in international waters, and I consider blowing them up to be a crime.

The old saw about "military intelligence" being an oxymoron is embodied in living color by the swivel-eyed "Secretary of War" Hegseth. Intelligence of any sort is anathema to him.

Man, ain't that the truth. Our country has progressed further along the line towards a banana republic. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that the orangutan-in-chief has found people to prosecute his criminal enterprise, but this is over the top. I truly hope that the next president is a Democrat and lasts two terms (plus more Dem leadership), so that the prosecution of all those hench persons proceeds to completion, instead of all those legal delays like Don the Con has been able to run. Frankly, I'm hoping that the Magats eat each other. There is already a pile of infighting. Face-eating leopards eating each other. As long as they stay away from me, I'm good.

By chance I opened this thread with a date in the distant past:  November 2015. I had been exchanging  encouraging notes with Magdalena.

I worry and care about her and wonder whether she has been scooped up by the ICE men. She is a Salvadorean and a pretty bright and creative woman.

Mags, if you are out there, I send you my continued respect.

Yeah, I've thought about our hippy butterfly friend a few times this past year. Here's hoping she and all her family are safe and and dare I say happy.  :far out:

Could have used the pacing Felix the Cat smiley, but chose optimism instead.

Also, expressing full agreement here that the Trumpist-controlled US military has been committing war crimes. Not to detract from the revulsion that elicits in sane Americans, I'll note that the US has a long history of extrajudicial killing and "wet ops."

It continues to refuse to acknowledge the current version of the planet's attempt to rein in the excesses of idiot violence (International Court of Justice). Blowing a civilian boat out of the water then killing survivors is openly disregarding the Geneva Convention, which is something new I think. I'm pretty sure that killing civilians piloting civilian watercraft in international waters is against other treaties that the US is party to. But then the Indians (or Indigenous Americans if you prefer) can tell you a thing or two about the US government respecting treaties it's signed.

My recollection of her last visit was during a conversation where I and someone else (don't recall) where we stated that we had been called NAZIs on the internet. Bear in mind that anyone might be called such, at any time, on the internet. I can assure you all that I am not such, only that sometimes people make claims based on some statement one made. My record is obviously anti-Nazi. I hope that Mags comes back. The time frame doesn't matchup with a deportation, btw.
