I'll check for a milsurp store around here. I can also buy new from the Navy Exchange, but it's 40 or so miles from my house.

 That walkout by the rest of the press pool left him without a microphone at a press conference.

Yeah I saw the video of him dedicating his fancy new helipad. Blithering away, audio was just ambient noise. Perfect.

Orwell would recognize the doublespeak: The Trump regime gloats over commandeering the power of the purse to cut federal money meant to help citizens survive by calling it "the most harmful government spending." The money had been approved via a bipartisan vote of Congress, and signed by the felon president.

Conveniently the Republicans are in power in the legislature and have put it in recess. As I understand it Congress has 45 days to reassert the power given to it by the US Constitution and reverse Trump's usurpation. Seems rather unlikely since the Speaker has set the House to reconvene only after the election.

Screwing over people in need while lavishing absurd sums on the military, not to mention gilding statues and other important improvements to Washington DC. Par for the course.

I see it here, too. One of my sons broke his foot and has been out of work for 4 months. Both the medical insurer and the state have dropped the ball and he has yet to get any disability money. He'd be deep into his reserves and possibly on the street if he wasn't living with us.

Welp, it appears that the felon president has decided to openly side with Russia against Ukraine. His toadies are lying about it: No, nothing to see here, don't know what you're talking about.

When the despicable asshat yaps about Ukraine "ending the war" he pretty much explicitly means "surrendering to Russia."

"Zelenskyy says Russia hit Ukraine again with no 'warning from partners,' U.S. delaying 'vital supplies'" | CBS

QuoteUkrainian President Zelenskyy said Monday that his country had been subjected to another night of Russian missile and drone strikes, "and again there was no warning from partners."

Zelenskyy has accused the U.S. of limiting intelligence, and possibly other assistance to Ukraine amid renewed tension with President Trump, who accused the Ukrainian leader over the weekend of not wanting to end the war. Mr. Trump has significantly softened the U.S. government's policy toward Russia, easing sanctions to allow Russian energy sales  in a bid to ease U.S. gas prices.

[. . .]

The Trump administration has denied making any changes to the intelligence it shares with Ukraine, or deliberately slowing down Starshield data.

A senior Pentagon official told CBS News on Monday, "There has been no change to Department of War policy regarding intelligence sharing or any capabilities we are enabling Europeans to provide to Ukraine."

Asked Saturday if the U.S. government was responsible for the change in Starlink service in Ukraine, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said he was "not sure Zelenskyy knows what he's talking about, but it wasn't deliberate ... we have nothing to do with that."

"The United States — nobody ordered that Starlink speed to be slowed down. It sort of happened, but my understanding is it's been restored. It's back to where it was before," he said, without elaborating on what he meant by "it sort of happened."

Some republicans are squawking, but only ones ready to retire. I doubt that the US will ever be the same. The chump family is making bank on his presidency.

i wish you were wrong.

it took germany 50 years to turn around.

and looking at it now, it didnt turn around all that much.

I'm hoping most of the younger folks who were taken in by the convicted felon carnival barker president will have learned from the experience and be more discerning in the future. Silly me.  :)

Meanwhile the circus of dismay continues. Steve Witkoff (one half of the globe-trotting ninny oligarch/amateur diplomat duo that Trump puts so much store in) took a cue from his boss and called Putin a "humanitarian." The US will probably survive Trump and eventually mostly recover, but I don't think the rest of the world will soon forget the hideous nonsense this regime has inflicted on it.

Agreed, and it makes me sad to see us lose so many allies. Putin, a "humanitarian"?  ::)
