Old wife to 30+ daughter, you have no idea
2 1/4 granddaughter, I have an idea
I don't know what it was,she may have expounded but I didn't catch it.
I suspect she just saw an opportunity to loose one of her catchphrases.
I don't think she is as intelligent as she pretends to be.
I had to explain twice no that's not a llama, it's an alpaca, smaller..
I don't know how the fuck she knew to bring up camels

Self evident: Adult humans are becoming more toddler like
Self evident: Toddlers are compulsive dinosaur addicts
Self evident: AI is on the up, we are on the down

A likely purpose for the AI, keep the the trillion toddlers mollified
I WANT ANOTHER DINOSAUR, A REAL ONE!!!
AI achieves a link to 65 mil ago, convinces the dinos there's no future for them, unless they come with them into the future, and they nudge an asteroid to cover their tracks.
It's all so obvious, when you think about it.

We will clone a dinosaur soon, and AI will get smarter. Humans are easy to control because our intelligence can be used against us. But dinos?  How do you control such a beast? AI v humans is easy to predict. AI v dinosaurs - not so much.

The Magic Pudding..

Just listening to the radio, this guy:

QuoteDuring a career spanning almost thirty years, Nick Bryant came to be regarded as one of the BBC's finest foreign correspondents and was described as 'the new Alistair Cooke'. He has been posted in Washington, South Asia, Australia

Apparently the horrific thing about the Rwandan genocide was the failure of the west to intervene.
I can see there are arguments to be made, something should have been done, colonisation shouldn't have been done...
Still, I think the most horrific thing would have been the machetes wielded with gusto.

How many radio chats around the world about the Andrew formerly known as prince, will be followed by a song by The Artist Formerly Known As Prince?
If you suffer from cosmic vertigo, don't look.

Present day parallel, the genocidal destruction of Gaza. However in that instance the west hasn't just refrained from intervening but in the case of the US actually provided material support for the genocidal destruction. Deeper external culpability but most of it still falls on the perpetrators of the horror.

I like the whimsical question. The anglophone media's deference to the British royals makes it unlikely, but I imagine it's crossed the minds of at least one or two witty sorts in the back room

On its face a simple question. The simple answer is "As much as any existing state has a right to exist." Perhaps you would agree that the asserted right in no way justifies systematically committing horrendous war crimes.

I would agree. The problem Israel faces is that Hamas, et al., financed by Iran, has vowed to destroy it. So, this cancer is imbedded in Gaza. For Israel to maintain its security and existence, it has to fight against this cancer. If I have a limb that is infected with cancer, even though part of it is healthy, I might have to amputate it to save the rest of my body. I hate seeing children suffer just like anyone else. But the root of the problem is Iran's financing of terrorist groups like Hamas, which is motivated by a desire to eliminate Israel.

I wish I had a solution, and would love it if Israelis and Palestinians both safely dwelt within their own countries. But, alas, that seems to never happen.
