Feeling really depressed these days, but all for reasons that would get anyone feeling down (I don't consider myself clinically depressed). I guess I just want to tell someone. Spent the whole day in bed today.

Well, it's true I don't usually feel aversion towards most other humans...when I'm not feeling depressed. So at this moment in time you and I might be slightly more similar than you think.

Just thinking: if it is burditis and not gout it has one positive outcome . . . I can relax a bit on the bloody bland and boring anti-gout diet!

Yippee - taste here I come!

Negative outcome: gout is easier (if boring) to relieve. Both are chronic, potentially recurring problems.

Went to an exhibition on 'Kitsch' in our county town of Hertford the other day. Some of the posters were describing the extreme vitriol directed towards what some consider is the most dreadful lapse of taste ever. Even philosophers in the 17th century had negative comments. These self-styled arbiters of taste made me so indignant; like whatever pleases you, but don't decry  what others like, keep your opinions to yourself. Honestly I came out of there thinkig I'd just have to hang a Vettriano and three ceramic flying ducks on my wall in sympathy.

Just another reason to suppose there is no God; why would you make people of different coloured skins in the first place, knowing, (as an all-seeing god would know), how his creations would fight over it. But then we'd always find something else irrelevant to fight over; other reasons to ascribe inferiority to certain types of people, and I don't fancy a world where we all look the same.
