How many weapons do you own?

My cousin was visiting the other day, and he found it odd that I hide weapons in every room of my house.

Here's a brief rundown of my collection: Two steel kama, one katana, three concealable knives, one claymore, one pen knife, one cane sword, two eskrima sticks, one war club, two billy sticks, two koga, four axes, seven throwing knives, one set of nunchaku, one manrikigusari, two tonfas, one sjambok, twenty shuriken, one baseball bat, one umbrella sword, two bokken, and one blackthorn shillelagh. This is not including tools. things that can be used as weapons, display pieces, or things I can't think of off the top of my head.

I've only recieved oficial training on stick fighting and knife work, but I'm at least comfortable handling the others/profecient in their use... except for the nunchucks and manriki, I don't trust spinny death things.

Anyway, I'm genuinely curious about the weapon keeping habits of normal folk. I'm well aware that having lots of weapons isn't normal, but surely you at least have ONE in every room! What if the uprising begins when you're in the bathroom, or a closet? Really it's just good planning. You can never be too careful.

Wow, interesting collection of weapons you have. My dad has an arsenal of hunting rifles, pistols and all sorts of guns, but as for me, I don't have anything beyond my own two hands (which don't amount to much). And my legs.

If anything happens I try to first and foremost give an enemy a head knock.  :brick:  :brick:

I keep a pencil and a tic-tac in every room, and a small bit of pocket-lint in the cars.
(anything can be used as a weapon ;-)

^That's what I was thinking.

We also have a couple bats and a pair of nun-chucks that I"m pretty sure my husband doesn't know how to use.

Will

I don't own any single-use weapons. I have stuff that could be used as weapons, like an ax in my garage or knives in the kitchen, but I don't own a gun or a bow and arrow or spear or hunting knife. I don't really need them.

If someone ever breaks into my house, they're welcome to my valuables. I'll probably try to talk them out of it, but I don't see any reason to try and kill someone over a TV. I'd rather they didn't steal them, of course, but I'm not that big of a materialist.
I want bad people to look forward to and celebrate the day I die, because if they don't, I'm not living up to my potential.

Davin

I have a bunch of stuff that are designed to be weapons, but I wouldn't use them as weapons. I just think they look cool.

I have a couple of c02 guns bought as props years ago - in reality, in the UK, the need to the use them is so minimal that I'd probably still be loading the guns as the perps disappeared with my TV.

to hand there's always things lying about that one could use in a hurry - ever stepped on a bit of lego? man, it's a killer : D

The Magic Pudding

Cricket bat, and a ball as well for a ranged attack.
There are a couple of attack rabbits in the front yard and a cross Jack Russel/cattle dog, so it is unlikely an attacker will make it into the house.

LegendarySandwich

I think I'll probably buy some guns when I'm older and have my own place, but for now, nothing.

Human lives aren't replaceable, or at least I don't think so. I wouldn't kill someone over a TV, or some video games... Maim perhaps, but not kill.

I honestly don't know if I could/would kill to defend myself, but I would be very dissapointed in myself if I couldn't kill to defend my family.

Also, I don't like guns. They make things too easy, a slingshot or bean bag shotgun would the closest I'd own.

Me too. Between them and my family, there really is no contest.

Asmodean

A battle-ready viking-type war axe (You can also chop firewood with it. Not too efficient, but gets the job done)

Formerly: A compound bow, which was pretty damned deadly. Better than some handguns in terms of deadliness over distance, I'd say  :pop: Only had the thing for two years, but sold before my last move.

....and two rifles, a compound bow, a dagger, leaf-bladed blowdarts, bokken, staves, throwing knives that I don't know how to use... all that good stuff

I am a weapon....

....Aaaaand I have a few S&W SWAT folding knives, a Winchester Parfive folder, a couple of jungle knives, a couple of katanas, a Shaolin two section staff, a set of throwing knives and a single shot break over .410 rusting somewhere in a friend's garage.  However, I'm thinking of saving up to snag me a Remington 870 Marine Magnum - used one of those when I was TAD to the master at arms when I was in the Navy and loved the thing.  And at some point, as cliche as it is I'm thinking of getting an AR-15 a specific model from Rock River Arms - that one will be a bit more expensive but what can I say, I live in rural Texas.
