Whatever, my point was that combat itself is obsolete 'round these parts. You have no use for any of this stuff unless you live in Libya or somewhere like that and want to rebell against the state.

None of those are real swords, and someone with a proper sword could easily beat someone of equal abilities that was weilding any of those, with the notable exception of the lightsaber.

Video game/anime swords are designed to look cool, and would be pretty lousy in actual combat.

That last one is called an Urumi, and it is very real!

My judgement stands. You posted several swords and only one of them had a solid basis in reality.

Spin the urumi around and you can keep your opponents at a distance from you, but try anything more than that and you're just as likely to hurt yourself as you are to hurt them. Although, I suppose it's kind of like the machine gun of swords if you know what you're doing with it.

Bah! Anyway, I heard that zombies will be attacking starting in May. If that's true, I expect that bullets will very quickly become more valuable than gold.

When you have a pack of zombies at your door a lot of empty guns are going to be about as useful as a lot of lint in your belly button. At least the bigger guns can be used as clubs, but they're akward and prone to rust... So an actual club would be better.

I do have a camp knife I'm rather attached to, the Ka-Bar Becker BK2 Campanion:

Maybe not the prettiest, but that's a 1/4" thick pound of steel, ready to chop a tree; heavy and solid enough to inflict violence without the blade, which is also nice. It's actually in a different city than me at the moment, and I'm feeling some separation anxiety thinking about it :)

weapons: my mind, my dog (for the scary barking if nothing else)
The stats on this event ever happening are so small that I don't think about it unless I read a thread like this one.

I keep one Saiga 12 gauge tactical shotgun in the house and my lab/boxer mix that sleeps when I am gone and doesn't like to be woken up. Man she is a bitch when I wake her up early...

In the Kitchen I have a meat cleaver and set of steak knives
In my bedroom I have three Swiss Army Knives
In my ensuite bathroom I have a dirty sponge
In the toilet, there's the toilet brush
In my eldest child's room I have a pillow (could be used to smother)
In the main bathroom I have a slippery floor
In the hallway I have lack of space, (it could be considered clostrophobic maybe)
In the study I have a bookshelf which might hurt if it fell on someone
In the dining room I have some chairs (it works for WWF)
In the living room I have some cushions (again a smothering potential)
In the garage I have some ant and cockroach poison

Big mistake, now they'll know your defences, they'll be prepared.

The essence of the mind is not in what it thinks, but how it thinks. Faith is the surrender of our mind; of reason and our skepticism to put all our trust or faith in someone or something that has no good evidence of itself. That is a sinister thing to me. Of all the supposed virtues, faith is not.
