An armed society is a polite society.

Other than utilitarian objects which can be used as weapons, I have a couple of throwing knives and throwing axes from a brief fling with historical re-enactment phase.

Which is a good argument for nuclear proliferation!  ;)

I'd like to know what the gov'ts in possession of such weapons would do with them if they weren't needed? That, and all the nuclear waste that will one day bubble to the surface of our planet?? Humanity has already shot itself in the foot that way. But no, Im talking about being personally armed, every single adult should own and carry a side arm and know how to use it or be taught self defense from childhood.

Remember, your inability to grasp science is not a valid argument against it.

A katana, 10 throwing knives, throwing axe, a 16 inch bowie, 2 serrated short swords, a mace, spiked knuckle dusters, an assortment of various folders, a crowbar, and last but certainly not least, a cane.

I must be missing something here.

I agree nuclear things are a hazard - especially now in light of what happened at Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant in Japan.

But it has seemed to have worked that few of the nuclear-armed nations get visits from invaders. Sure kept Korea going the way of Iraq!

I agree on self-defense for sure!

Not too sure about everyone carrying guns around these parts - I can hardly trust them to drive a simple car like an intelligent adult!

I think that's probably a reasonable interpretation.

But not a humorous interpretation.
Always question all authorities because the authority you don't question is the most dangerous... except me, never question me.

95 pound dane mix, that's the teeth portion
3 16+ pound cats with attitudes, that's the nails portion, plus a few more teeth

I have at least one small hunting or carving knife in each room, mostly because I can never find one when I need it.  Same goes for scissors, really sharp scissors of all sizes.  Then there's the cement filled baseball bat and heavy duty thick rebar sections in the living room, and yes I can pick them up and swing them.  Then there's the machete and all the leathermans in the garage along with all the other sharp pointy tools.......

Quote from: "Byronazriel"My cousin was visiting the other day, and he found it odd that I hide weapons in every room of my house.

Here's a brief rundown of my collection: Two steel kama, one katana, three concealable knives, one claymore, one pen knife, one cane sword, two eskrima sticks, one war club, two billy sticks, two koga, four axes, seven throwing knives, one set of nunchaku, one manrikigusari, two tonfas, one sjambok, twenty shuriken, one baseball bat, one umbrella sword, two bokken, and one blackthorn shillelagh. This is not including tools. things that can be used as weapons, display pieces, or things I can't think of off the top of my head.

I've only recieved oficial training on stick fighting and knife work, but I'm at least comfortable handling the others/profecient in their use... except for the nunchucks and manriki, I don't trust spinny death things.

Anyway, I'm genuinely curious about the weapon keeping habits of normal folk. I'm well aware that having lots of weapons isn't normal, but surely you at least have ONE in every room! What if the uprising begins when you're in the bathroom, or a closet? Really it's just good planning. You can never be too careful.

Everything you own (well, the ones which i recognize - lol.
QuoteI find it mistifying that in this age of information, some people still deny the scientific history of our existence.
