Well I am officially a student again. I went and enrolled at Bradford College today and will start full time for 30 weeks on a 'top up' that will give me a BSc in Business computing, if I get all the way through! It was an interesting day. There were 30 people enrolling, all asian, bar 3, and all male, bar 3, there was one white lady who may have felt a little left out!

Lost a friend last week and no one told me until I saw the obit today.  Used to work with him, he built my fence, I used to schedule all his work orders and set up quote appointment for him.  Saw him and his wife at the store literally an hour or 2 before the heart attack took him.  I'm still shocked.  I had given him and his wife both a hug that day, they were planning on driving up to see their daughter I think.  I know it has to have been hell on the family.

Sorry to read that. One is always in two minds about a sudden death. On the up side nobody really gets to worry before the event. On the down side there is no chance to prepare for the event. On balance I think I'd prefer a quick end.

In my AP Geography class, I asked two people in by group to write one paragraph on a specific topic for a project.  Both of them simply plagiarized a paragraph from an internet source (and neither paragraph even made much sense).  The other person in my group said she would e-mail me the work she had done on our power point, but didn't.

You have my sympathies. As a project manger one learns that trusting people to do what they say they will is fine, if you want the project to fail. One has to keep an eye on all of the plates, all of the time, it's not just a question of dishing out the work as you have found. A good life lesson me thinks.

I hate working with a group on a project.  One or two people do 90 to 95% of the work and the others just ride their coattails.
