Quote from: "Tank"Have you moved yet?
Yes I have.
Is it nice to be in your own place? Did you move far?
It's very nice. And it's about three hours south of Bergen.
The world's what you create.

So this will be your first long time away from home then!  :yay:  Did you fall off your moped yet?

deekayfry

Quote from: "Reginus"
Quote from: "deekayfry"I am thinking, quite a bit in fact

That I need to go to bed and sleep

That I have worked now 21 days straight without a day off, all twelve hour days, without air conditioning in 100+ temperature, and I wonder how much longer I can hold out as there is no end in sight.  :|

84 hours last week
84 hours this week

...how many more 84 hour weeks will there be?
What do you do as a mining engineer?
What does an average day consist of?

Reginus, somewhere in the haze a day or two ago, I wrote a response, hit "Preview" and then closed the browser.  KDBeads pointed that out.  I shrugged mumbled something and went to bed.

In a nutshell, a mining engineer can work on proving a reserve, supervising an operation, to designing a process to purify the minerals.  He or she may be involved in just quality control, as I am now, or environmental regulations, or safety.

Mining is a small industry with the largest equipment in the world.  It is noisy, dirty, sometimes physically draining, and dangerous.

I love it, not because of all of that, but I get to spend a lot of time outdoors in some of the prettiest country in the world.  Although we are tearing some of it up.  Go figure.
I told the people of my district that I would serve them as faithfully as I had done; but if not ... you may all go to hell, and I will go to Texas.-  Davey Crockett, 1834

My retort would be, 'Then I don't have to believe you.'

I guess she has a point-they don't have to prove it, provided they don't expect others to believe it as well.  Those who like to proselytize, on the other hand, had best be prepared to prove what they are preaching.
