The saga of My Crazy Christian Coworkers continues...

So my one coworker, the girl who's been in our department the longest is 26.  She's been married six years, her eldest child is six years old and her youngest is 18 months.  Her husband looks like one of the back woods serial killers out of the Wrong Turn movies, but that's neither here nor there.

She is crazy.

Someone brought up Andrea Yates (the mother in Texas who drowned all 5 of her children while she was battling post-partum depression), and my coworker went nuts.  She went off on a tirade about how she hoped Andrea Yates burned in hell, that she deserved to die, that she wished someone would drown her, etc... In general, very nasty.  When I commented that that wasn't a very Christian thing to say, she told me she didn't give a shit.  I told her Andrea Yates suffered from mental illness (schziophrenia, on top of the post-partum depression).  She told me she had post-partum depression with her eldest and never wanted to drown him.  Yeah, because you know...everyone's experience with that is the same.  Not to mention, the stress of having to take care of 4 other young kids on top of a new baby would likely exacerbate the depression, so again, not the same.  I was really biting my tongue hard.  I wanted to tell her she was being a heinous hypocrite, and her lack of compassion was pretty disgusting.  I decided it wasn't worth the trouble it would cause.

Naturally, 5 minutes previous to this rant, she was screaming at her brother that he was going to hell because he told her he was going to miss church on Sunday.

I imagine a woman who kills her children in a state or madness, would punish herself more than we could if she regains sanity.

I got a scooter for my birthday, but it's not where I live now. It's where I'm moving to next month, so I won't be able to drive it until then.

So, a bit of history. I'm fat, no other way to put it, in March of this year I weighed 380 pounds. Last month I was down to 350, and then I got deeply depressed and gained back ten pounds. My partner's mother is now going to be reducing rent based on how much I lose, and since last Sunday I've lost 7 pounds. I am now back down to 353 lbs, and my goal is 200. I am finally proud of myself again.

Thanks. To say it hasn't been easy is an understatement. I get depressed, and I eat, then I get depressed for eating and I eat more...gah. So that I've gotten this far, and my partner is with me is awesomely epic. I hope noone will mind if I get a Weight loss tracker for my signature...I think it may be my biggest thing right now, aside from my healing, which I can't really measure.

Well I was going to suggest you start a weight loss thread but thought twice as losing weight can be cyclical. I was worried that if you went on a short upswing you'd not want to come here and that would be our loss. Your weight is irrelevant to your intellectual and social participation here and I for one would not like you to leave because you were embarrassed to come here if your weight went up again. Do what is right for you now and if that changes don't be afraid to change what you show or tell us. But whatever happens don't be afraid of people here being judgemental of your efforts.
