I just read a fun fact about Sr. Francis Bacon!  Evidently there is some question about the validity of this account, but the guy who was with him when he died claimed that he caught pneumonia after standing out in the snow with a gutted raw chicken, trying to see if ice might preserve food in a similar way that salt preserved food.  I had no idea!

I'm having trouble understanding my mother's point of view regarding the existence of a god and the percentage of the Bible that she believes is true.
