National Guard now runs D.C., and Trump's DEA head is now Commissioner of Police. Will Trump rename it Trump, D.C.? Will he turn the National Mall into a golf course? Will he replace Lincoln with a golden statue of himself and call it the Trump Memorial? Will he turn the Washington Monument into Trump D.C. Hotel? The possibilities are endless. We are already under an Absolute Monarchy - it just takes time to play itself out. Nobody can stop Trump. There are no more divisions of power or checks and balances, which is what the Constitution is about. He ignores the courts and all institutions, and the legislature does his bidding. He is a King.

I've heard it mentioned more than once that this is trying out a playbook for jackboots descending on other cities he doesn't like. It wouldn't surprise me if that's the case. He's rather free with his declarations of "emergency," and it would surprise me if the complaisant "Republican Party" didn't back that play,

Sure, he is trying out his wings. He can take over any city he wants on the pretext of an "emergency", arrest any Democratic governor he wants for being "anti-American", take over any election he wants by claiming "fraud". The Constitution is now meaningless.
