My wife's uncle was one. He got blown off his bike and hurt his knee just enough to be invalided out. He was Canadian and reckoned it was the best thing that ever happened to him because of the war pension he got.

I read J,D, Vance's book; Hillbilly Elegy when it first came out. I thought it sufficiently interesting at the time. Now it has become a sort of useful tool for the Trumpers.  Surfing the net, I came across an interview with an author, historian, named Nancy Isenberg.  Her book Is titled; White Trash.  I will read that book presently. It is a combination of history and the resultant social consequences............

On a roll, I continued to surf the net for additional social commentary. Bingo!  I found a You Tube series called Coffee Klatch. It features Robert Reich the U.S. Secretary of Labor under President Clinton and a Staffer under both Ford and Carter. He is an economist who has some insight about why there are so many dedicated Trump adherents. Both the above mentioned books have some bearing on how we got to this place on the political scene. I suspect that the commentary in this You Tube vid will apply to other countries as well as it does to the U.S.

If you sufficiently bored and have 25 minutes to spare then take a look at Coffee Klatch.

Here is an item of at least casual interest. It is about a woman F16 pilot whose mission it was to take down flight 93 on Sept 11.

Women are slowly coming around to our way of thinking about the value of religion, while the men are less likely to do so. Whats up with that?
