I'm certain that you appreciate having your new pup being as healthy as can be, so the delayed delivery has to be bittersweet.

Have you considered not calling "him late to dinner"?

Sad news: Iago will not be coming home on March 8, he will be staying with the breeder for an additional 3 weeks after March 8 as per the vet's recommendation because of Joy's highly contagious illness. 

Joy is well, but even though she is now asymptomatic she will be shedding the virus for some time, and since Iago is still very young he is at high risk even though he had his third shot today. So the breeder's vet recommended Iago get a fourth shot in 3 weeks, then stay another week away from Joy in order to develop a proper immune system response. Being a month older will also lessen the likelihood he gets infected.   

So yeah, feeling a little down right now.

There was a lot of expectation surrounding the new puppy coming arriving next week...I cleaned out the new dog room and everything, so I really felt it when the breeder urged me not to bring him home yet. I don't know what came over me.
