you realize that by the time you finally get this pup home the first name will have expired and you're going to have to choose another?

Just be happy.

Look at how beautiful he is! :tellmemore:

Not bad, although not really my type. The dog is cute.

I'm getting a little worried about introducing Iago to Joy at the end of the month. Joy, having been an only child for the past 3 months or so, is a bit fearful and anti-social around other dogs and Iago, being as big as he is (and will only get bigger) will intimidate her for sure.

Because of her condition I haven't socialised her with other dogs. Just the other day at the vet's she tried to attack a curious Spaniel who just wanted to sniff her butt.

At least he's being well socialised so it's only half the trouble.

Holy Hannah, that's a puppy?  I'd be intimidated, never mind Joy.  Is there a chance of introducing them from a distance a couple of times before he joins the household, so she's at least a little used to him?

 Yes,  that's a 3 month old puppy.  ;D

That's actually a good idea, introducing the two to each other on neutral ground, as Joy is getting quite territorial. However, I doubt the breeder will allow her to interact with him and then take him back to the kennel because of her contagious disease. He mentioned he has other puppies that would be at risk.  But the first introduction will ideally be in neutral territory.

Iago comes home next Sunday!

I asked the breeder for a video of Iago today and he sent me this:
