What's on your mind today?

Thanks for responding.  I'm so sorry you have to go through this.

Randy

What's on my mind: I start a new chemo regimen today. From what I understand it's going to be rougher than the one I was on. I'll probably lose my hair again, have nausea followed by vomiting, the things that chemo patients usually go through. I'll do this, I think, eight weeks straight, take off a week, and repeat.

I'll verify the eight weeks though as I've read conflicting reports but I think this is what my oncologist said. It could be the same reason I was on half dosage of my previous one. Maybe she's lowering the dosage and spreading it out for eight weeks due to my body's frailty.

This is the chemo we're grasping at straws I fear. It starts in an hour.

Cancer and it's treatments can take away a lot of things but one thing they haven't been able to do is take away my sense of humor. I love to laugh.

with everything going on inyour life i am frankly astonished at your peace of mind.

Just be happy.

Randy

I don't know about peace of mind as such Billy. I have to have diversions, like this forum for example, to keep from becoming a basket case.

Right now I don't feel so good. It just started a few minutes ago and the coughing didn't help any. i forgot to take my morning medication because the time I have set aside for it coincides with the chemo.

I don't think it's the chemo affecting me right now, I think it is too soon. I think it is the missed medication. One of the tablets is for acid and what I just coughed up a minute ago was that very thing. My nightly medication has that tablet as well and I'll be taking it in an hour and a half.

Whether you have peace of mind or not, I think you are brave.

Randy

Thanks Bruce.  8) At the moment the nausea that I just awoke with is fading away thanks to pharmaceuticals and a tree that grows bottles of Sprite. I estimate another fifteen minutes and the nausea will be gone.

I've got a second round of chemo coming up on Thursday. If my hunch is correct the effects will be accumulative as I think the agent is. I dread it if it is and will certainly dread the eighth in the cycle.

The smoke from the California fires has been giving me allergies and it's making my nose bleed. It's really bad. All my windows are closed but we can still smell the smoke. So, Covid, fires, Trump, what's next, an earthquake?

Probably. 2020 sucks!

At least you don't have to put up with a Trump boat parade on the lake near your house. Obnoxious bunch of creatures.  Unfortunately, no boats sank this time.
