I'm HUNGRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Goddammit!

Ah ha! Socks are mentioned and you become hungry, you are the eater of socks, I've long suspected it.

There's so many great characters in that book it's hard to choose, particularly between Death and Death's granddaughter.

My favourite fictional detective was death - Lord Peter Death Bredon Wimsey.  He always got very uptight when they hanged one of the murderers he caught.

I think that as a general rule, when you catch a murderer you must accept he's going to swing.

I love swings. Always have. One of my earliest memories from perhaps the age of two is learning how to pump my legs on the swingset, to make myself go higher.  ;D

I have no need to pump my legs: they're fat enough already.  Unless I pumped some stuff out of them.

I find it a miracle that each person's legs are precisely matched to the gap between their arse and the ground.  Don't tell me that just happened by random evolution.

random evolution.

Everyone knows that evolution is not random - it's guided by natural selection. That's what this thread is and always has been about. We have been guided by the invisible hand of natural selection to this very point.

It's rude to point.  I prefer the little head jerk/grimace/eye brow raise.  It's much more subtle to use your entire head to point someone out to your companions than to use a single finger.

Hahahaha!

Oh well may you laugh but I reply with a ha harrr, I know what you're doing.
Did you think such blatant undermining of the thread with single subject posts would go unchallenged?
Reminds me of those miners who feign ignorance when a house suddenly becomes all basement.

Basements. Mine is really cold tonight, and looking around it made me realize I need to do more spring cleaning. And put on some warm socks for bed.

Forget the socks.I suggest you sleep with a Basque.A charming people  who take excellent care of their teeth.

I had a bunch of baby teeth once. But they all fell out.

Once when I was a baby, I fell out of my baby buggy when my parents were taking me for a walk. I was all bundled up in a snowsuit and blankets and just went 'whump' right down onto a lawn, so I wasn't hurt. But a few metres down the road, my parents looked into the buggy, and realized I was missing.  :D

I used to write a lot of buggy code, but it didn't matter because it never ran for more than 4 seconds before crashing.  When it comes to finding a scapegoat, always pick the computer.

Scapegoat! I thought this was supposed to be the Happy Atheist forum.  From wikipedia:

In the Bible, the scapegoat was a goat that was designated (Hebrew לַעֲזָאזֵֽל ) la-aza'zeyl to be outcast in the desert as part of the ceremonies of the Day of Atonement, that began during the Exodus with the original Tabernacle and continued through the times of the temples in Jerusalem.

That poor goat doesn't sound either atheist or happy.  Now a nanny goat, thats a goat of a different color.  Probably a 680 nm wavelength, give or take a few angstroms.

Speaking of goats.....mmm, goat cheese!  It's definitely better than cream cheese-I love to spread it on pitas with a drizzle of honey and some Granny Smith apple slices, and than I toast it in the oven.  I used to buy goat cheese that already had honey in it at Trader Joe's, but there are no Trader Joe's where I live and that makes me sad because all the nummy stuff I like to eat tends to live there.  They're putting a bunch of TJ's in Texas, though, so maybe one day soon the goat cheese with honey will once again be mine to nom on....

Ah yes but that sounds silly, it would be much more practical if they spread the stores out instead of bunching them up.

At least buses have an excuse.

QuoteIn public transport bus bunching, clumping, or platooning refers to a group of two or more transit vehicles along the same route, such as buses or trains, which are scheduled to be evenly spaced, running in the same location at the same time. This occurs when at least one of the vehicles is unable to keep to its schedule and therefore ends up in the same location as one or more other vehicles of the same route at the same time. The end result can be longer wait times for some passengers on routes that have shorter scheduled intervals.

Yes, buses are sorely lacking in social confidence and rarely foray out alone. They blush easily as can be seen by their customarily red complexions.

Red is such a difficult color to wear -- I've tried for years to find a shade of red that won't make me look washed out but it's just not happening.
