Well, it'll certainly make me chuckle the next time I hear a preacher shout "Testify!"  ;D
"We've thought of life by analogy with a journey, with pilgrimage which had a serious purpose at the end, and the THING was to get to that end; success, or whatever it is, or maybe heaven after you're dead. But, we missed the point the whole way along; It was a musical thing and you were supposed to sing, or dance, while the music was being played.

Wow, that gives a whole new meaning to the popular Christian song by Avalon called 'Testify to Love'...

"For as long as I shall live, I will testify to love, I'll be a witness in the silences when words are not enough..."

ROFL!

I expect most people do know this but it is pretty cool.

QuoteSwim bladders are evolutionarily closely related (i.e. homologous) to lungs. It is believed that the first lungs, simple sacs connected to the gut that allowed the organism to gulp air under oxygen-poor conditions, evolved into the lungs of today's terrestrial vertebrates and some fish (e.g. lungfish, gar, and bichir) and into the swim bladders of the ray-finned fish.[5] In embryonal development, both lung and swim bladder originate as an outpocketing from the gut; in the case of swim bladders, this connection to the gut continues to exist as the pneumatic duct in the more "primitive" ray-finned fish, and is lost in some of the more derived teleost orders. There are no animals which have both lungs and a swim bladder.

The cartilaginous fish (e.g. sharks and rays) split from the other fishes about 420 million years ago and lack both lungs and swim bladders, suggesting that these structures evolved after that split.[5] Correspondingly, these fish also have a heterocercal fin which provides the necessary lift needed due to the lack of swim bladders. On the other hand, teleost fish with swim bladders have neutral buoyancy and have no need for this lift.

This quote (and it's many variations), "I may not agree with what you have said, but I'll defend your right to say it is" is usually and incorrectly attributed to Voltaire.  It was actually first used by Evelyn Beatrice Hall when writing about Voltaire.

Rats are another creature that cannot burp, fart, or otherwise pass gas.  If they are given anything with carbonation, it will cause their stomachs to explode.

David Bowie's real last name is Jones, but he changed it to avoid being confused with Davy Jones from the Monkees.  He also played the Elephant Man on Broadway at one point and has two different colored eyes.

"Come ride with me through the veins of history,
I'll show you how god falls asleep on the job.
And how can we win when fools can be kings?
Don't waste your time or time will waste you."
