I'm happy to hear it went well.

Ah. To a swift and uneventful recovery!

Quote from: Tom62 on December 12, 2023, 06:26:35 PMThe surgery went well. Less painful than I thought. I can already stand up and walk around a bit. However, I have no intention to run a marathon yet. Doctor's said that I can probably go home on Friday or Saturday.

Good news :)

Yes, good outcomes from surgery are always good.

I'm leaving the hospital today. In two weeks from now they will remove the stitches. Bad news is that the lump they removed from my lung was a metastasis. Still have to wrap my head around it and figure out how to deal with this.

That's not good news. Sorry to hear it.

Main problem I have now is figuring out what to do next. I have little to no trust in school- and alternative medicine. In most cases it seems that the treatments themselves are worse than what they try to cure. Currently there are no metastasis found in my body, so why should I poison myself with chemotherapy and feel miserable for times to come? The quality of life is for me much more important than living one or two years extra but in miserable conditions. Anyway, I try to get this shit out of my mind now and celebrate Christmas with family and friends.

Ai-yi-yi. Not that you asked for or need input but if you trust your oncologist, ask them to clearly explain your options and resulting prognoses. Meanwhile I think you're doing the right thing by just enjoying life!   :spock:
