lacking a better place to put this, here is an interesting (to me) take on the state of Russian economy and the possible eventual outcome. The video becomes more explicit at about eight minutes.

What do all my more sophisticated HAFers say to this?  Does it have any substance or is this merely an elementary lesson in economics?

The Magic Pudding..

As a shallow unsophisticated HAFer I only minimally skimmed it, I thought maybe Vlad and his oligarchs had taken a fancy to tulips.  No I think he's talking the resource curse and Russia is doomed.  I don't pay it much heed, there's reasons Russia should fail, there are reasons the US should fail yet they both keep stumbling along.

I find it interesting that US gets so much benefit from the USD being being the world primary reserve currency and yet Trump and the boys are talking up crypto.

Watched it through and found it interesting. The crucial issue facing 'Dutch Disease' now is tech and AI in particular. It is a huge hot potato.

I looked at that reply and thought it rubbish

The Tank I know, to whom I huddled as the German bombs fell, he would never say hot potato without desperate need. It is clear to me, AI has him. It's up to us to retrieve him, or not if it's doing a better job.

This is Lucy, the treacherous one and Charlie Brown the hopeful one. Lucy excels with political and philosophic matters.

Yes! It is as The Asmo has always suspected. :smilenod:

It's not an conspiracy theory if there be a conspiracy. Then - then, it's a conspiracy fact, is what it is. :smilenod:

Yeah, I suspect that they want to be as much on Trump's good side as they can. There happen to be bridges to mend there, as Trump is exactly the sort of feller who would at the charred remains, then hold a grudge, then act on said grudge.

I'm not in the least bit worried. As long as he remains withing the US Constitution He's legal. If he steps outside of the Constitution the supreme court will put him back in it, just like they did Biden. A president has certain executive powers as we all know, none of those powers are unlimited.
The only thing possible the world needs saving from are the ones running it.
Oh lord, save us from those wanting to save us.

Trump is busily testing the limits of endurance of the American people with outrageous papal like encyclicals.  The court has shown no interest in bringing him to heel, nor do I expect them to do so. After all, it is his supreme court.
