Quote from: "Whitney"I need to figure out how to let my mind and emotions take a vacation...unfortunately the only way I know how to do that is to actually take a vacation to a beach because I find beaches extremely calming.
The beach looks a long way away.
Don't any of those rivers I see on my map offer a haven?
Anyway wouldn't Asmodean let you squish she/he to relieve your stress?

so.. as Im driving 120km on the highway, my car suddenly decides that my camera (on the driver's seat) needs a seatbelt. So it start beeping. And poor me, I panicked.. did I break the car, is there smoke coming out of the hood? should I pull over?
It took about a horrifying minute to see the "seatbelt on" light and put the camera on the floor.
Bad jazz baaaaaad

Most of the water areas around DFW are nasty...there is a state park that has a swimming area; not really the right atmosphere though.

Sleeping in this weekend seems to have helped enough.

I am watching a series on the Discovery Channel called Next World and the episode was about artificial intelligences and how they will shape the future.

One segment asked "Why is this happening?" One of the contributors to the show posed a statistic that said:
92% of all scientists that have ever lived are alive today.
85% of all engineers that have ever lived are alive today.

I thought that was incredible!!

I've got travel on my mind today. Last Tuesday, I returned from a wonderful two week Alaska cruise. On Saturday, I'll visit my wife for a long weekend in Washington DC; the weekend after and the weekend after that, I'll visit my wife again, but this time in Munich.
The universe never did make sense; I suspect it was built on government contract.

Ok, so today I have a test of three A&P chapters. Good times right? Not so much, because not only I have a test today, I also have a test on Friday on two more chapters. Five chapters, five days, two tests....GAH!  :drool  :verysad: SO...I'm a bit freaked out...

I hate life altering decisions.  Almost as much as I hate waiting to hear what the choices are going to be.

Like say..... Nebraska or Virginia, half the cost of living or slightly more, living in the middle of nowhere or being 40 miles from my parents.......

Anyone wanna come over and help me clear out the crap in the house so I can be prepared to move?

I'll come if you can stump up the air fare

Don't you break any jars in the move!

I wish that by the same simple measure, Spring will come into my mind.

My daughter's partner's company was bought out and he was put on redundancy notice and would have been laid off 2 days before my grand son's birth due date, not good as you can imagine. He has been told he will be retained by the new company so his contract will be transferred so he's happy.

I on the other hand am seriously pissed off with the car I got from my daughter. It has cost me £560 to get it serviced but the car alarm is playing up and randomly unlocks the car! It stays armed so if you open the door the alarm goes off but it's still not acceptable. So I now either have to fix the existing alarm, get rid of it or fit a new one all of which will cost more bloody money  :verysad:
