Things are not looking great for my 5PM flight from Frankfurt to Washington DC  tomorrow  :shake: .

Damn, that's a shame mate. Will you be able to get compensation if your flight is cancelled? A friend of mine lives near stansted airport and he said it is really eerie without the noise of aircraft comeing from the airport.

Yep, my flight has been canceled. The airport in Frankfurt is now closed until further notice. I tried to phone the booking agency for compensation, but all lines were overloaded. I sent them an e-mail instead, but haven't received a reply yet. The only "positive" thing is that I'm not one of the thousands of passengers who are stuck at the airports.

A big hug for you.    but there's only so much of it she can understand or do anything about. Yesterday I had a private discussion with someone on a different forum about something almost completely unrelated, but it gave me a chance to unburden myself quite a bit. That gave me the boost I needed to become proactive and, today, I started doing my own online research to find out what options and limitations there are. That way I'll be as informed as I can be when I finally get a chance to see my doctor or talk to other doctors.

In case any of this is unclear, in my introduction I talked about the fact that I'm a woman who was born male and has yet to begin treatment (HRT, electrolysis, GRS) to correct it. I also have survived a sudden acute cardiac arrest, and have an implantable cardioverter defibrillator and take medication to help regulate my heart rhythm.

My Greatest worry is that the possibility of complications from one (potentially life threatening) condition might prevent me from being able to get adequate reatment for the other (not life threatening, but not conducive to sanity or happy living in the long term). Sort of a cruel catch 22, unless I'm wrong and there exist ways of treating both simultaneously.

This morning at work I was attacked by a guy who got into the building while I was outside.  He punched me in the face a few times and dragged me into the bathroom where I passed out.  When I came to he was gone.  He didn't rape me or steal anything from me and I'm ok except for a few bumps and bruises on my face and a cut on my eyelid, so as being attacked goes I was pretty lucky, but my birthday is in a few days and I feel like just never going outside again.  I'm scared and while I logically understand that that reaction is totally normal, I feel ashamed of myself for being a baby.  I just wish my fiance would come home.

Yeah, I had to fill out a report and they took pictures of my face.  My head still hurts.  The company I work for is being really nice though, they gave me tomorrow off with pay so I could chill out a bit.  And my boss called me like three times to make sure I was OK, that was nice.  I'm not looking forward to going back to work, though, I don't want to talk about it with the people I work with.  I do appreciate that they care, though, I'm just a private person.

There aren't any security cameras.  Well, they're installing an old system the company had in storage on Friday, so I guess they just didn't think it was necessary until now.  I work at a 60 year old woefully run down drive-in, the company that owns the place is based in California and couldn't possibly care less about us.

Random craziness.  Seattle passed a bunch of laws a few years ago which drove the homeless out of the city and into the suburbs.  On top of that, the city where I live has a bunch of mental health clinics, so there are lots of somewhat unstable homeless people wandering around.  I used to talk to them a lot when I worked at Fred Meyer and I don't generally have a bad opinion of them, that's why I think this guy was either super surprised or totally crazy or both.
