Thanks and she does.  She started crying when I proposed to her. :-D

Congratulations!  When is the wedding?

No idea!  Probably within a few years.  We've been together 4 already so another year or so isn't that big of a deal. ^_^

The following was posted on a friends fb profile (edited slightly for privacy):
QuoteI was slightly irritated with my girlfriend (i was able to shower, get dressed, brush teeth, warm up car, scrape all the windows, eat breakfast, and drive, slowly, from east side [suburbs to center of big city] all before she could get showered and dressed). then i realized that i am far from perfect and i need to learn patience anyway. so sorry for getting upset [gf's name]

Why post it on freakin fb in detail if you are sorry for being upset about it?  (I would have posted this as a comment but I save my comments for when he really says something stupid)  I keep on thinking I should block this guy's updates because they are always something like the above (or praying via fb...which is odd) but he is one of the guys I dated in high school and reminds me of most of the other guys I dated in high school; it's like a shocking reminder of what my life could have been like if I hadn't been able to explore my questions.  It's like watching a train wrek!

I'm currently playing in two knock-out online chess tournaments. Today I won two my first two games, so' I'll be in the next rounds. The first one was in 13 moves and the second in 16! Especially the first game was very interesting

Well, that's the second exorcism I've heard about in my immediate family, the first one being performed for my atheist twin brother. I keep re-realising how important it is that I keep my Dawkins and Hitchens books well hidden. I think I'll keep them in my drawer with my Bible, that should throw them off the scent. On a serious note.. I'm living with family I've never lived with before, immersed in a religion I've never been immersed in before.  If they find out I'm atheist they could make my life severely difficult for the next year. I should move to Canada. I choose moose and snow. Oh, and life.

^^ You might like France. I'm guessing you speak French.

nope, I don't speak any French. My dad is English and my mom is Afrikaans, so I'm fluent in both. I can speak bits and pieces of other languages but on a conversational level at best.
Thanks for the advice though ;)

Ray McCauley is getting a second divorce?

Matthew 19:5 " 'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'."
Matthew 19:6 "So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate."
Matthew 19:9 9 "And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery."

If you're going to take the Bible literally then at least be consistent, and don't just follow it devoutly when it's convenient to you.

Apparently there's an American MP called Ruth Kelly. Since my first two names are Kelly Ruth I find that quite an amusing discovery. I remember discovering a scientist called Sir Richard Owen, and my brother's first two names are Richard Owen. What a l0l.

She's not American she's British and we don't have a parliment so we don't have MPs.

Quote from: "Tanker"Forgive my ignorance, I know an MP is some sort of political position in England but it's not a term we use here. What precicly is an MP is it like a Govenor, Represenative or Senator?
MP stands for Member of Parliament I think. I'm from SA but I'm pretty sure MP is an abbreviated term used in the US as well. I could be wrong, I don't live there

23:10 and I'm off to bed. I'd rather watch the Truman Show and read my shiny new Hitchens than get hit on at a club. I swear, I feel 90 somedays. Maybe I should learn to knit. Then I can make my imaginary grandchildren horrifically gaudy jerseys. mwahaha
