So, basically... you have a great desire to reach a condition... in which you have no desires?
Curses.

So I'm trying to find forums for teachers in which I can drum up some traffic for my new site, and I find one called "A to Z Teacher Stuff Forums." Looks normal, until you scroll down most of the way, past the test practice sections, and reach the "Prayer Request Forum."

Not sure if this is or is not what you're after, but you might look here:

National Center for Science Education: Defending the Teaching of Evolution in Public Schools
QuoteThe National Center for Science Education (NCSE) is a not-for-profit, membership organization providing information and resources for schools, parents and concerned citizens working to keep evolution in public school science education. We educate the press and public about the scientific, educational, and legal aspects of the creation and evolution controversy, and supply needed information and advice to defend good science education at local, state, and national levels. Our 4000 members are scientists, teachers, clergy, and citizens with diverse religious affiliations.

Oh, I know the NCSE. I'm just annoyed that teachers, who are supposed to be the heralds of the next generation, can so blatantly place prayer next to lesson plans. It's just a sore spot for me; legally, as long as they don't do it in the classroom, there's nothing wrong with it. I'm just complaining.  :secret:

I do very well believe that I've found a guy that likes me!  :yay:

But he has a girlfriend.

And I guess "Nirvana" isn't really what I want to find. I just want to find inner peace within myself by the end of my life. I want to make sense of my life too.

Yeah that's crazy. I think I can match that. I recently moved to an Indy suburb town called Carmel to be closer to my job, and I'm watching this dedication of a new bridge that's part of the Monon trail, on tv on the local access channel. A nice little ceremony where they're all saying how great they all are, and one of the more nerdy looking officials gets his turn at the podium, and after a few words about this and that, he breaks out the "let's bow our heads for a moment of prayer" command. I don't have a clue what he said after "Dear lord", because that's when I rolled my eyes and grabbed my clicker, but I guess I wasn't surprised. This is a very white/Republican/Christian/ burg. It was probably good that I wasn't there. :D

Hat

Sup, HAF? Long time no seeeeee~

Those of you who see my Facebook should know of Minor Drama involving Relatives disliking my swearing habits despite me seeing them on a semi-regular basis offline,  while on my Twitter was Drama involving a now former friend who fancied me with stuff which has been going on for months. I'm not fussed about the latter, I think he was being a clingy bitch about things 80% of the time so it's no real loss for me. I'm a tad bit annoyed about the former, because since these people are relatives they should know about this and if they have problems with it to speak about it to my face, not over facebook.

But anyway, all that's on my mind right now is small hope that my timetable will change this week. Just Friday, anyway. Monday we're off, Tuesday is half day, we don't start class till 11am on Wednesday and on Thursday we're only in 1 hour 45 minutes thanks to class starting at 1.30pm but Friday...Friday, class starts at 9.30am and ends at 2.15pm. We get no break or lunch in between. Last time I checked I don't think that's allowed but whatever. We'll be complaining about it to give us a break in between.

Other than minor Dramu and Timetable Worries, a Hat is doing just peachy : )

Heretical Rants

What if none of us are really human, but instead ethereal beings that sacrificed eternal life in order to live as humans?

That would have been really stupid of us.

Yes but not nearly as stupid as the ethereal beings that sacrificed eternal life to live as snails. Perhaps unless they were ethereal snails.

Got an A+ on my paper comparing Plato's "Allegory of the Cave" to modern American culture and politics for my AP World History class.  :D

AlP

That sounds interesting Pineapple, maybe you could post it? =)

Meanwhile, AlP has written a program to download historical prices for all securities listed on the NASDAQ, AMEX and NYSE since his birthday in 1994. Why? Because AlP has mad scientist tendencies.

Hey Listen, You. If you don't see the point in coming to a half day class, don't bother coming back in. Our timetable only has one full day, the rest are all short due to late starts and the like. Oh what's that? You have reasons? Listen, Boyo, I don't care, ok? We should have established that fact that I have an Empathy Problem by now. Y'know, it's apparently what causes you to be 'omg i'm so emo i'm in so much pain' because I refuse to fancy you back, remember? Anyway, I don't care if you can't come to class because the 'pain' is 'omg so terrible'. I don't care if you've broken an arm. Hell, I don't care if you're on fucking fire. You said Weekend Drama wouldn't interfere with school. I believe that, I do. But if you're going to tell Dean that you don't see the point, then you can just get the fuck out. I hate people like you who sign up for courses and don't bother coming in most of the time after a year or so, wasting a spot for someone who had potential.

I'll tell you something for nothing, Boy. You wouldn't be missed.
