Quote from: "quizlixx"I love oblivion as well. But i was thinking of Fallout 3 as more green/gray, like a depressed matrix. Heard Elder Scrolls V is coming out in 2010ish.
2010?  :D

I'm a big fan of Civ 4... Revolutions on the DS is okay for portability but I really hope they make another PC version similar to 4.

I just finished watching it, kind of dumb but it is what it is

I've just bought Arma2 and by golly it is amazing!! I used to love Operation Flashpoint and this is essentially the same, just far better. The below is Arma2 running on a pretty sweet setup using TrackIR and Triplehead2go:

This next clip shows the true amazing potential of dogfighting:

So. All i need to do now is upgrade to a quad core with 8 gigs of RAM running windows 7 and a sexeh graphics card. 2 new wide screen monitors for Triplehead2go and a purchase of TrackIR.

Should only set me back £1000 :D

Roll on Christmas bonus!

Hey Karadan - Nasa called... they need their shuttle back!
(damn, that's a sweet setup...)

Have you seen this one?  Half-Life with real guns (and shovels):

What, no crowbar? For shame.

I just bought a PSP off of Ebay and bought some games separately. The games arrived today, the PSP has not yet.

Does anyone have a PSP?

The game disks seem like they may be broken because the outer plastic separates and opens at the top. Does anyone know if this is normal?

I have a PSP. As far as I know, the plastic around the UMD shouldn't open. Does it securely latch back after it separates? None of my games do that (but, I'm only going from memory).

Quote from: "Athiest33"I am too obsessed with video games.

I own an NES, SNES, N64, GC, WII, PS2, GBA, GBASP, DS, and DSLite.

So basically, I own 11 systems, for GBA and PS2 have backwards compatibility.

:(

That's a shame. I mean, what's life without being able to fight King Dedede to your heart's content?

That's right, King Dedede. The best villian of all time. Look at that stare! It gives me chills!

I disagree. This is the best villain of all time.

It does not latch back. What a poorly constructed format. I got two games for like $12 so it's not the end of the world if they don't work. I should have my PSP in the next day or so, so I guess I will see then. Perhaps a sliver of tape will fix it.

Thanks for that Joe :) That was so wonderfully geeky. I loved it!

It eventually happened to 3 of my 8 games. I guess the mechanism will not let the disk spin if there is any resistance on it. I managed to fix them all by applying a miniscule amount of sellotape across the join between the clear plastic and outer casing. Fairly primitive, i know, but it got round the issue of that horrendous design flaw.

I used to have the games in a wallet but it is better to keep them in their cases. UMD's are very fragile.

MrWizard

(This is the intro I posted on my groups introduction thread)

My first introduction to gaming came when my father bought me a commodore 64 for my birthday. I spent a lot of time on that and even programmed my own pong clone. I soon moved onto DOS, WINDOWS 3.1, Sega and then onto the modern consoles such as x-box and PlayStation. I currently spend a good chunk of my free time playing flash games and XBLA games. Some of my top games that have influenced me are:

Caveman ugh-lympics introduced me to the concept of humor in gaming.

Space Quest was one of those games I ended up following throughout the whole series. Funny and with intelligent writing it cemented the idea that games can and in most cases should have developed stories.

Monkey Island goes down as one of my top ten all time favorite games.

Dune 2 was the first strategy game I ever played. Soon after I started playing playing all strat games I could get my hands on Dark Colony, Command and Conquer and Starcraft.

Speaking of Starcraft, if I still had a legal copy, I'd take any of you on.

This may sound like blasphemy to some, but I enjoyed StarTropics far more than Zelda. StarTropics was my Zelda.

And that's about it.
