I LOVE the Civ series... but it won't work on my computer for some reason.  Stopped working before XP and not even the hubby can get it to work and he's a brilliant technophile.  So who knows.  But yeah, I love it!!

I got into the Half Life 2 Games a few years too late...

I like RTS, all of the Dawn of War games. I have a DS and an SP, I mostly play Pokemon games on them. Ruby and Sapphire on the DS, Gold and Silver on the SP.

I have a Wii. Am a Guitar Hero 'expert'.

That's a shame. It works fine for me and I use Vista.

For a relatively new player such as myself, this game is rather difficult to master. I'm very good in the beginning. I'm very good at building the economy, the military, etc. In the later stages of the game, like around 2000 AD+, other civilizations start to gain on me and on occasion pass me. It can become frustrating! Yet, I'm addicted to it.

Yeah, that happened with me, too.  But you're right, it's addicting... Sometimes, I'd just start a new game each day just to see how far I could get in 2 hours or 1 hour or on extreme difficulty.

Have you tried the Ages of Empires games?  They're massively fun, too.  It's not turn based, so you can fight other civs right then and there.  I lost so often, it wasn't funny... But it WAS fun!

I've played Age of Empires, but I prefer Rise of Nations. That game is basically Age of Empires, but in my opinion a better version of it. I would dominate that game. I always won using my military. I would just wipe civilizations off the map, but every now and then I would get involved in a HUGE war. What a great game.

I don't know if I'm the only one here, but I'm a huge Final Fantasy fan. I loved it since the 3rd one came out years ago. FF13 is on the way, and gosh, Square is taking awfully forever, teasing us with those amazing trailers and screens from the game. Also, during E3, they showed this trailer:

Ahhhhh! Can't wait. Hopefully, a FF online game done right!

Huge FF fan here, too. Mowed lawns when I was a kid to buy the first one for the NES (the game was $79, if that tells you anything). Fantastic games. I'm thinking about using the series as my case study for my dissertation research. Not sure anybody's done that before.

I'll still probably stay away from 13. I like to be able to leave off and pick back up at my leisure without worrying about anybody else, you know?

Total Fangirl right here. Surprisingly, I'm not as hyped as I thought I would be for XIII. I dunno, maybe it's because I'm the kind of person who loves the older games more so than the newer ones. I love I right on through to VI with VI being my Absolute Fav. It gets more points because it was my first RPG and FF game back when I got my PS1 :P

I play reality based games a lot, I really dislike MMORPG's as they quickly get boring, however, when playing with other people I become interested in them.

Games I have played:

Forza Motorsport 2

WRC 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005

WipEout 3, Fusion and some of HD

Gran Turismo 1,2,3,4 5 Prologue and I can't wait for the portable version.

Colin McRae: DiRT

Gears of War 2 (Horde mode only)

Race Pro

Battlefield: Bad Company

Battlefield 1943

Guild Wars (Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall on the recommedation of a friend)

Fallen Jedii

Anyone else a fan of Elder Scrolls? I've only played Oblivion, but I heard the previous versions, like Morrowind, were better than Oblivion!

I really enjoyed the Dark Brotherhood quests (who doesn't?) and the Thieves Guild quests. The Fighters Guild wasn't too bad either. The main quest, once beaten, is almost like an afterthought because there are so many side quests. What a great game.

I also have a question. I have the GOTY edition and I've been to the Shivering Isles a few times, but was never really interested in doing the quest. Is the main quest worth it in the end or is it nothing special?

Athiest33

I am too obsessed with video games.

I own an NES, SNES, N64, GC, WII, PS2, GBA, GBASP, DS, and DSLite.

So basically, I own 11 systems, for GBA and PS2 have backwards compatibility.

Does anyone have Kirby Dreamland (black & white version)? I love that game!

Loved Oblivion. Hated Morrowind. Elder Scrolls V should be amazing, whenever they decide to put it out. I liked Fallout 3, too, but the drabness of it all kind of got to me after a while. I know, I know, it's post-Apocalyptic America, but does it have to be so damn gray?   roflol

Yeah, I played a little bit of Fallout too, and I agree with you. We all know it's supposed to be the end of the world, but do you have to make me go into real depression while playing a game?

I love oblivion as well. But i was thinking of Fallout 3 as more green/gray, like a depressed matrix. Heard Elder Scrolls V is coming out in 2010ish.
