Sounds similar to here then, well except for TX and OK.

Still, given heavy enough traffic and light enough snow, it will melt from friction eventually. Of course, might have multiple pileups by then.

some places are just bad. i drove through des moines iowa once on a nice sunny day tbe morning after a blizzard. after a while i said, this is nuts, and started counting.

from that point on i counted 147 cars and trucks off the road, in the median, down the embank.ents, on tbeir sides, roofs, and all abandoned. in about 30 miles. at no point in those 30 miles were there fewer than tbree abandoned vehicles in  sight at one time

the cops were flagging tbem one by one to make sure tbere wss nobody inside.

thats just how iowa is.

Just be happy.

Why am I getting a lot of adds like this?
I don't click on them, why do they think I have "ED" issues?
I wonder what the easy solution is, maybe it's more tits.

Right? I go to a woodworking site and the ads have scantily clad women. My wife sees that and laughs. So I go to a Scrabble game site and show her that the ads are for a woodworking supply! Go figure.

Hey everyone. Sorry, I know I only come on here when I need to bitch, so forgive me this occasional indulgence. But I've been around the last couple of years, lurking in the background, watching you all talk and argue occasionally. Almost jumped in on that Israel debate, because I have lots of complicated, conflicted feelings, but thought better of it to maintain my sanity. But tonight I have a glass of Disaronno next to me while I flee from the living room upstairs. Couldn't get through five minutes of the Trump-Biden debate, I tried to reject a lot of the rhetoric about Biden, but even this hard-core never-will-vote-for-a-Republican-ever voter has to admit he looks awful. I will hope for the best, but I think we may be fucked, and I'm despairing. My wife is calmly watching it without reacting and I'm simultaneously frustrated and impressed that she can hold it together better than I can. I just went for a walk to clear my head and some asshole on a bike asked me for cigarettes and seemed ready to fight me for some reason because I don't smoke. I just walked away. It felt apropo somehow.
Anyway, I just needed to rant to a group who kinda understands. Thank you for reading. I hope you're all doing well.

Welcome back! My wife made it about 15 or so minutes into the "debate" and couldn't take any more. I didn't even start to watch. The chump is going to lie about everything, anyway, and not answer questions. Biden may be old, but the chump is crazy. We don't need more of that.

Good to see a post from you again, Firebird:smokin cool:

It's early days as far as the campaign goes. Remember last time Biden wasn't considered to have a chance up until he started winning primaries. He has a way of sticking in there and managing. As long as he gets his voice back and doesn't go into a serious decline, this debate shouldn't be the deciding factor.

Along the lines of what Dark Lightning said, Biden wasn't in top form, but the other gobshite remains a despicable, narcissistic, thoroughly dishonest grifter and convicted felon. That won't stop plenty of people from voting for him, but it doesn't seem likely that more will vote for him than last time.

I'm not enthusiastic about the prospect of a kleptocratic quasi-theocracy but if that's how it goes we'll have to find ways to cope. Trumpists are not the majority and never will be.

Trump lies at about the same frequency as his breathing.  Doesn't seem to matter to his supporters.

The polls are basically tied, and Trump's ahead in a lot of the battleground states that actually matter, unlike mine. I would like to think you're right, but after what we've gone through before, I am not optimistic.

We'll cope I guess. My wife is much more fatalist about it because she went through the same thing in Turkey and survived, though things are pretty bad there. Maybe I just need more battle scars.

The situation in the USA is extremely frightening for sure. I moved to New England to get away from these Christofascist Trump worshippers, but I'm afraid if he gets in office, with Project 2025 we'll be screwed no matter what state we're in.

I don't flipping care how weak Biden sounds. This isn't about him. It's about stopping Project 2025 and the authoritarian Christofascists behind it. The USA better wake the F*** up right now. We cannot let Trump win. Absolutely not. I'm so scared.
