but really, does anyone play halo for the story? multiplayer is where all the fun is. An enormous gathering of 12 year old, racist, gangster, homophobic, pro gamers. :D

I suppose you are right. Most people that play FPS are not looking for a story, but cool ways to kill things. I guess if I want a good story I should stick to RPGs. Still, I don't think it would kill a game developer to develop a FPS with a good story.

The online part of Halo is cool, but gets old after time. The kids as you said are annoying as hell. It kind of ruins the entire online experience. Sometimes its fun to annoy others. One time I pretended I was Spanish and kept repeating certain phrases over and over. It was fun to listen to their responses over the mic. Needless to say I was eventually booted from the game.

If you want a FPS with a great story, check out Clive Barker's Undying. Great game.  :D

Fallout 3 is considered an RPG just so you know.

True. Otherwise Oblivion would be considered an FPS. The FEAR games would have amazing storylines if you didn't have to get the entire plot from emails, voicemails and whatnot. It's such an interesting story. I hated having to search and track all that shit down. COD4 had a great storyline, even if it did get a bit tiresome by the end. Can't wait for Modern Warfare 2, though.

Yeah I rented Bioshock a few nights ago. I absolutely love the game. I think it's considered a RPG as well as a FPS.

Response to the post above me: COD4 had a good story too. The sniper levels were tremendous and the ending was extremely satisfying. I love how it captures the chaos of war. It's one of the best FPS experiences out there. I used to have it for the 360, but then my 360 broke and I bought a PS3. Maybe I'll re-purchase it for PS3 and play online now that I can play online for free.

oblivion and fallout 3 are basically the same game, given a few differences in story. But i still HATED the third person in FO3 much less than i hated the 3rd person in oblivion. they should keep downloadable content coming for oblivion. also one of my favorite games with one of the most epic endings ever.

I should probably get back to playing Oblivion again. When I had it for Xbox I enjoyed it a lot, but as I said earlier my Xbox broke. So I'll buy it again and finally finish the game when at all possible.

Thought you'd all like these recent ratings:

QuoteTrue to its parent company's renewed focus on engagement metrics, Nielsen Games ranks its top PC and console games in terms of minutes played. Blizzard's cult Massively Multiplayer Online Game World Of Warcraft was rightly placed at the top of the PC game title list for March when compared against the top 100 pre-installed games measured. Interestingly visitors to the virtual world Second Life actually logged in more minutes per week, but from a much smaller base of users. The console rankings remind us how powerful the PS2 platform remains, due to its huge installed base of users. Microsoft's Xbox 360 actually ranks above the Nintendo Wii despite its smaller audience.
