One from the archives. A cursory search brought this as the first of several threads about the Myers-Briggs and similar questionnaires. From the early years of this site--a couple familiar handles.  :)

For the convenience of the curious, I'll include a link from upthread that's still active: personality test. This post isn't necessarily intended to set off a fresh round of "it says I'm . . ." though it's fine if it does that.

Instead, I'm linking to a review of the film "Persona: The Dark Truth Behind Personality Tests" which includes some of the history behind the Myers-Briggs phenomenon.

"'Persona' argues convincingly that it's time to cancel personality tests" | Salon

QuoteThere is one jarring, infuriating scene in "Persona: The Dark Truth Behind Personality Tests" that distills the entire film. The documentarians are interviewing a businessman whose company creates personality tests for employers to use in hiring decisions. By this point, the filmmakers have already established that these tests are predominantly designed by middle-aged, privileged white males and are (as a disability justice advocate puts it) "by and large constructed to be ableist, to be racist, to be sexist and to be classist." The businessman is asked about the people who suffer from said discrimination as a result of personality testing.

He smirks. "I would say you may have applied for the wrong job," he says, smugness oozing from his every pore. "Who wants a job you're going to hate?"

[Continues . . .]
"Religion is fundamentally opposed to everything I hold in veneration — courage, clear thinking, honesty, fairness, and above all, love of the truth."
— H. L. Mencken

I prefer asking the magic conch to describe my personality.

I find this personality test interesting because the Myers-Briggs has no scientific validity, and IMO is the psychological equivalent of a horoscope.

I am an INTJ and an Aquarius, btw.

First one needs a personality to have a personality test.

 My thought, exactly. Meanwhile, I'm judged as ISTJ-A by that software, which isn't truly all that far off the mark.

I am right on the border between INTP and INTJ. Cancerian to boot. It seems we are partners in crime, according to one site.

I think this invention based on Jung ideas is pseudo-science.

Some people are anal retentive.
Others are anal expulsive.
But many are anal repulsive - just butt ugly.
