A major breakthrough, if it's true. Even if it doesn't turn out to be true, it's an intriguing topic, and I think the signal is certainly worth investigating. On doing some more looking around, it appears that the headlines are overselling this discovery.

Astrophysicist Ethan Siegel says there's no way it could be a signal from dark matter:

The Asmo, He did a very good job of hiding all His dark matter. He doesn't think the mortals found it, but it would be interesting to see what they did find.
