No. It was an instant death though, so she didn't feel any pain.
One small blessing then.

Our pets do seem to be in the wars recently.

My dogs are currently attempting to escape from being wrapped in cotton wool.

I must ask.

Cotton wool?  :-\
I think it's called cotton batton in the US

My wife got an e-mail from her best friend today, she is three weeks younger than my wife so 52. She has been diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer they haven't given a full prognosis yet but it's not expected to be good.

Yes. She's our eldest daughter's godmother. A really nice woman. She has two grown up daughters. I introduced her to her husband as a blind date that went off like a sky rocket. He's going to be having a terrible time. They've only told the eldest daughter ATM as the younger one is still at Uni. Time wise it could be 6 months or 6 years and no real way to tell yet.

I hope that your wife's friend has more time than the doctors think.

I'm sorry about your cat, Buddy. Losing our pets to death is an inevitable and heavy price to pay for the happiness and pleasure they share with us, but on balance I think that they're worth it.

So sorry to hear that. *hugs*
"We've thought of life by analogy with a journey, with pilgrimage which had a serious purpose at the end, and the THING was to get to that end; success, or whatever it is, or maybe heaven after you're dead. But, we missed the point the whole way along; It was a musical thing and you were supposed to sing, or dance, while the music was being played.

That's what I call a coded message.

There is still hope although the overall stats are not good. My own wife has just had a partial
Mastectomy and  the CT scan while showing that there was no spread from the breast picked up an unrelated but relatively early- stage cancer in the kidney. Given that the cancer was there, this was I suppose fortuitous. The prognosis is relatively good in both cases and my wife has an indomitably positive attitude (she would not have survived 32 years of marriage with me otherwise) . We are both resolved that once this is behind us that we are going to sieze the day with a vengeance.

(((En_Route)))  Best wishes for your wife's speedy recovery!!!!

[[[En-route]]] That's a manly hug there. I hope your wife pulls through. I too have been married for 32 years (31st Mar '80) and do not want to see my wife going through what yours is and what you are. She had a slight scare at the 50 year mammary scan but it turned out ok, it could so easily not have. Just keep donating to the cancer charities.

My mum once told me very proudly that she had help raise £500 to go to China, to buy Bibles. WTF!
