Ye I don't get it.
He was the first up Everest but some dismiss his achievement because he used bottled oxygen,,, buy hey it's still a long way up and you have to pay the Sherpas more to carry your air.
Sure his brother is more talented but he is taller and doesn't look like a puppet.
Zena and Hercules filled a niche, it wasn't his fault that niche was there.  He looked so good in leather and his shokrum technique was totally beleivable.
His adaptation of the Tolkien's stuff met with a mixed reception but I liked it.
I thought he did well in Master and Commander, why don't they do another one of those?
It's just like Firefly, you like something and it gets discontinued before you even know about it.

Russell's an Australian though, but I guess nobody is perfect.

His cousins, Jeff and Martin were fantastic cricketers, especially Martin.
Martin would have made some decent money in IPL if they had it in his day.
But Hadlee would have made the most out of the kiwis

Imagine, Hadlee, Khan, Lillee, Botham, Kapil Dev, all in the same IPL team.

I've been in Australia once on a business trip. Fascinating country, full of strange creatures. Never knew that Koala bears were so smelly.

Yes, Australians have lots of things in common with their wildlife.
K bears sleep for 22 hours a day, but then again there ain't much else to do over there.

But since were on the topic of sleep, I must say, I don't feel I get enough these days.

Firebird

I don't sleep enough either. Insomnia's why I'm online right now. I hate not being able to sleep. And when I finally fall asleep after a few hours of insomnia, I usually end up dreaming of things like zombies, which freak the hell out of me. Yet somehow I'm fascinated with zombie movies and tv shows like Shaun of the Dead to The Walking Dead. Fascinating how the zombie apocalypse taps into this visceral feeling of loneliness that lurks in many of us.

In the office we have to work on several zombie software projects. Sometimes I wish that a virus would kill these mistakes from the past once and for all.

Vaccines are really nothing but zombie viruses, when you come to think about it.  I thought about something once, but it hurt my brain and I never tried again.

You should try again, try to think again 'cause there's things to think about.
We all know the familiar zombie shambling gait and probably think it funny but perhaps a time will come when the zombie gait offers us increased mobility.  I had a gate once but didn't use it so I haven't bothered to get a new gate.  What's the use of that Golden Gate bridge, it doesn't seem to keep anything out and it isn't even gold.

Ah, the Golden Gate! It brings me back to those heady days of  free love and mind-altering velvet flared trousers. That endless summer when I wore a flower in my hair and in other strategic parts of my anatomy.

Wasn't that the time of permanent bad hair days and shitty Scott McKenzie music? Don't worry, I won't derail this thread to shampoos. "Other strategic parts of my body", I wonder what those could be?

Obviously in his ears, that's the MOST strategic place to put them, always draws a crowd.

Speaking of crowds, I was in the middle of a HUGE one the other day, there was an impromptu circus act in the middle of the sidewalk downtown. One guy was juggling, one guy was dressed as a clown, one was making balloon animals, one was doing gymnastic stuff like backflips, and one was doing card tricks. Even the cops stopped to watch and clap for them.  ;D

There's a busker festival in Halifax every year that always has some pretty cool street performers. I always enjoy it. I like people who play music outdoors, as well. My husband and I had our honeymoon and PEI and every day there was a gentleman playing the sax near the Charlottetown Arts Centre. It was really lovely. I'm sure we gave him $20 over the course of the week.
"We've thought of life by analogy with a journey, with pilgrimage which had a serious purpose at the end, and the THING was to get to that end; success, or whatever it is, or maybe heaven after you're dead. But, we missed the point the whole way along; It was a musical thing and you were supposed to sing, or dance, while the music was being played.

OldGit

Never trust a busker with a harp.  When you turn your back they might catapault nasty projectiles at you with the long strings.

There is far too much slapstick terrorism going on in our beautiful cities.

My wife warned me against doing this last night. She said she had a headache and wanted nothing to do with my projectile. I told her I had taken a little blue pill and was prepared to project for some time, but not over four hours.

Little blue allergy pills like this one, right?  ;)

Yeah, I can sympathize. Sometimes when I'm sick I can sneeze pretty hard and the sound projects all over the room! Speaking of which, I really need to stock up on more kleenex. Oh, and cream for coffee, we're nearly out.
