I don't know, better than the whole body being damned I think.

Right now I'm watching the newest Mythbusters - we record it on the DVR.  Earlier, I watched the latest Nova.  Yes, I am a nerd.    ;D

QuoteDirk Gently operates his Holistic Detective Agency based on the "fundamental interconnectedness of all things", which relies on random chance methods to uncover connections between seemingly-unrelated cases. He claims that he follows the principles of quantum mechanics, and although the majority of his clients suspect he may be a conman he often produces surprising results. With the help of his assistant, Richard MacDuff, Dirk investigates a number of seemingly unrelated but interconnected cases.

An hour-long pilot episode loosely based on plot elements from Adams' 1987 novel Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency was broadcast on BBC Four on 16 December 2010 and was watched by 1.1 million viewers. Critical reception was generally positive.[1] A full series of three one-hour episodes was subsequently commissioned in March 2011 and was broadcast on BBC Four in March 2012.[2] The series is the first continuing drama series produced for the digital channel.

I've seen one episode of the below, I know him as the goth kept in the IT Crowd store room.  I liked the first episode, pretty out their psychedelic stuff.

QuoteNoel Fielding's Luxury Comedy is a British sketch television series written and directed by Noel Fielding and Nigel Coan. The series stars Fielding, his brother Michael Fielding, Tom Meeten, and Dolly Wells. Various guest stars also appear, including Rich Fulcher and Richard Ayoade, and it features numerous members of The Mighty Boosh.[1] The first episode premiered on 26 January 2012 on E4.[2] The music was written by Kasabian's Sergio Pizzorno, a good friend of Fielding's.[1]

Prior to the creation of the Luxury Comedy, Fielding had worked in a double act with comedian Julian Barratt as The Mighty Boosh. Together, Fielding and Barratt produced a series of stage shows, a radio series, and a television series between 1998 and 2008. Going their separate ways, Fielding became a team captain on Never Mind the Buzzcocks from 2009, and also began co-operating on a new sketch show with Coan. The show originally had the provisional title Noel Fielding: Boopus.

I just finished watching the complete Sapphire and Steel series on DVD.  Great intelligent Science Fiction from the 1980's, but a bit outdated and slow.

I just got caught up on Fringe. The show started off awful, but got really interesting midway through the first season. Now it has 12 more episodes for season 5 and will disappear like all the other good science fiction shows.

I remember why I stopped watching sci-fi tv now. The "sci-fy" channel plays crap like "dinocroc vs supergator" and WWE.

Fox cancelled Firefly after one season, Stargate Atlantis was cancelled before it's time, and Caprica was cancelled after only one season.

It's annoying as hell. As soon as these shows find their rhythm the networks cancel them. I hope HBO or Showtime pick up a good sci-fi series in the near future. They can afford to let them loose a little bit of money until they find their footing and start turning a profit.

I really liked Fringe the first couple of seasons...but it got boring.  I quit watching after, I think it was, season 3.

Spartacus:  Loved this show.  Unfortunately the lead actor died of cancer after the first season, I couldn't (and still can't) wrap myself around the actor that took it over.  Just not the right fit for the character IMHO, but it works.  The sex scenes are a bit much at times, but apparently inline with Roman life...eh.  I'm anxiously awaiting season 3.

Game of Thrones:  I was hooked from the first episode.  Watching season 1 again as Season 2 is underway just to refresh my memory of all the relationships/familys interaction.

Season three is now on here.
It has lost something with the replacement actor, the loss of Batiatus and survival of Lucy Lawless.  Hopefully it will pick up though.

It's funny how people are OK with murderous violence but are bothered by forbidden female body parts.  :)

I stoped watching the series after the actor died, it just didn't feel right but those who did watch it thought that the season was brilliant, maybe I should check it out. For some reason I never have had a problem with sex scenes in film/tv/games and give extra credit to Spartacus for the scenes as they weren't all mixed gender so kudos to them. That reminds me of the film Troy and they changed Achilles male lover to his cousin, wtf!

Ye I sought the wisdom of the oracles (wiki) on that matter, seems you define their relationship to suit your story/audience.

I really liked Spartacus: Blood and Sand and Gods of the Arena. Our neighbor got us into the show. (He even had a Spartacus-themed party last year, complete with a makeshift arena and wood swords--it was quite impressive.) Have only seen two episodes of the season with the new guy. They've been okay, but I agree with you, AD, that the new actor doesn't seem quite right for the role.

I quite enjoy the gratuitous soft-porn sex scenes, but sometimes the gore in the fighting scenes is a little much. Overall, though, the over-the-top comic-book feel of the show is pretty damn cool.

I've been watching Big Bang Theory, American Idol, Two and a Half Men (old with Sheen and new with Kutcher, prefer Sheen better for some reason), America's Funniest Videos reruns... and the odd episode of Property Virgins or Househunters on HGTV.

The HGTV house hunter shows are totally addictive. I could probably watch 50 episodes in a row given the chance.

Anyone watching The Killing on AMC? It's a dark murder-mystery set in Seattle, US (based on an earlier Scandinavian series). The actress who plays the main detective is amazing. http://www.amctv.com/shows/the-killing

Unlike some I never rated Lucy Lawless as hot in Zena Warrior Princess but she has matured into a really sexy woman in Spartacus.
