Good ol' Tank, I figured you'd find it.

I'm not sure how much Tank get's paid, but I think it is probably too low given his level of competency. This forum is better moderated than most other's I have been too. Not to mention most of the other forums have about 3 moderators working at once, with not much extra traffic.

We all do it for the love  :D

This forum is good because Whitney is quite happy to root out trolls etc, very quickly and all the other staff follow that example. We also do our best to stop flame wars starting in the first place. This has two effects A) it stops the flame war quickly and B) irritates the would-be fire starter who usually leaves without needing to be banned.

The other contributory factor is our mature membership doesn't rise to trolling very much which make moderation much, much easier.

I agree. Tank is doing a great job. This forum runs slow sometims, but well. The trolls are weeded out, and the rules are enforced very well.

Also, all the members that have stuck around are really cool. :D

And we have the Asmo. No other forum has that.

A very good thing, too. Too much Asmo might implode the internet.

Indeed. Oh, an Asmominion has occasionally been spotted on various programming forums, but that's different.

I need to add "Photographer" to my list of things, since I actually made some decent money with it over the past four years. It's part time, and only pays for itself and some pizza nights, but since I do have credentials and get paid regularly (for sports photos, at least), I'm putting it on the list.  ;D

You absolutely should!
"We've thought of life by analogy with a journey, with pilgrimage which had a serious purpose at the end, and the THING was to get to that end; success, or whatever it is, or maybe heaven after you're dead. But, we missed the point the whole way along; It was a musical thing and you were supposed to sing, or dance, while the music was being played.
