This is why I say that the Xtian god, if it exists, needs to get a different PR team since the people currently talking it up the loudest and oftenest are doing it absolutely no favors.

In Fischer's minimal defense, he did not condemn Hitchens to Hell, he said god would, out of love, give Hitchens what god would have to assume Hitchens wanted, based on his failure to worship.  So, according to Fischer, his god is a drooling moron incapable of understanding the difference between lack of evidence leading to lack of belief and a desire to spend eternity engulfed in flames. 

Granted the things Fischer writes and says indicates that he's a good bit of a drooling moron himself, giving support to the view that gods are created in their believers images.

That appears to be a pretty accurate interpretation of Fischer's idiotic comments.

So, if we apply god's logic to a more prosaic crime we can understand, for example, that a rapist doesn't really want to abuse and dominate a woman, what he really wants is to go to jail so he behaves in a way that will most likely land him there.  

Riiiiiiiiight.

No matter how ridiculous god's 'logic' is or how retarded his behavior seems to get, Xians will always find a way to absolve him of his assholery simply by explaining it in such a way that he's never responsible for his own immoral decisions.  I also can't help but wonder why an omniscient being would be making assumptions.

But we're being told an omniscient being is making assumptions.  Which is another fine example of why their god is improbable -- the amount of mental gymnastics necessary to explain it.

I get that sometimes very complex and counter-intuitive things can exist, even if people have to undergo a lot of mental gymnastics to try and understand it, but it's the number of incompatible and quite frankly odd characteristics and traits that people describe their gods with that makes them so improbable.

As for omniscient beings making assumptions, they're always just as omniscient as the people who profess belief in them. And those people are always making assumptions.
