The Fuhrer from the American Family Association (a group of right wing Christian fascists) has much to say.

Let's assume for the sake of argument that Christopher Hitchens maintained his resolve and did not turn, he did not repent, he died an unrepentant and defiant atheist. That would mean today, if the Scriptures mean anything, that he is in Hell today.
But here's my point, the point I was making earlier is that if he is, if Christopher Hitchens is, in fact, in Hell, he's there because God loves him. Not because God hates him but because God loves him. And I explained what I mean by that. What I mean by that is that God loves us enough to, in the end, give us what he insist on having. If we are determined to have our own way then God, in the end, is going to give us what we insist on having, because that's what you do for people you love.

Who is that person and why does any one care who he condemns to what? 

He is:
A pompous, bigoted supporter of ultra conservative causes and has been active in city and state politics AND against gays and lesbians, immigrants, African Americans, Latinos, Native Americans and American Muslims. His controversial comments on racial and ethnic minorities have caused the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) to give his AFA organization a hate group designation last year. The AFA also hosted Rick Perry at a prayer rally this past summer with the goal of bringing people to Christianity and bringing with them the support of anti-gay leaders: Jim Garlow, John Hagee, David Barton, Cindy Jacobs, David Welch, and members of the International House of Prayer. The AFA has built a substantial political, fundraising and media apparatus for its boycott drives, electoral campaigns and news commentary.

After a plane crash that killed an abortion doctor and his family, Fischer suggested that the prayers of anti-choice activists had helped to bring about the deaths.

Newt Gingrich has given AFA $125,000.

Some of them give Fischer their support.

That's who he is, amongst other things....and that's why Americans care what he says.
