I think I need a new job - I moved to this city and I have a job that I really enjoy, but they'll only give me 16 hours a week. Which means I have to support the job I love by also working a job that I hate.

I think the solution is to find a full time job that I "like". Juggling two jobs is really annoying and lame.
"We've thought of life by analogy with a journey, with pilgrimage which had a serious purpose at the end, and the THING was to get to that end; success, or whatever it is, or maybe heaven after you're dead. But, we missed the point the whole way along; It was a musical thing and you were supposed to sing, or dance, while the music was being played.

What would a job that you "like" be?
Strange but not a stranger

I love my car more than I love most people.

The job that I like is being a veterinary receptionist. I also have work with a research firm calling people to do surveys and I hate it. I could definitely get some other kind of receptionist work, but I don't know if I'll enjoy the people as much. This is complicated by the fact that I am going back to school in a month or so, by distance, to do a program that builds on my B.A. (I like working as a veterinary receptionist, but A) I'll never make "good" money doing it and B) I kind of feel like it was a waste to go to university for 4 years to do this).

My husband is also in school full time and we have a wee one who is a year and a half. Life is complicated right now, haha.

So you like the receptionist part, and working with animals? Maybe you could work at a school :P

Grump of the day: I've been in this Anthropology 101 (Human Evolution) class for seven weeks now. We spent the first two or three weeks learning the processes of evolution. But just today I was doing group work with some other people and one girl just opened her mouth and this is what fell out of it:

"You know what I don't get about evolution? Like, if we evolved from apes, why are there still apes?"

Another girl in my group joined in like, "YEAH! I don't get it at all! I thought this class was supposed to explain that! It doesn't make ANY sense!"

I wanted to slam their heads together.

I would certainly insult them to make their eyes water if I was there... Did it once, would like to do it again :D

I just sat there in horrified silence until the professor started talking. I can never speak eloquently when I've been blindsided by stupidity.

Do you ever feel like crying and you don't know why?
You aren't alone.

Sometimes when that happens I just watch a sad movie and get it over with. It helps!

Some people are so stupid and oblivious.

Saw this on a Spark People message board posting:

Question: Will you get the flu shot this year.

Answer: No.

Oh mannn, it has been the longest two months ever. I am super sorry for disappearing guys. My mom got sick and I had to deal with a lot. *sighs* but I really did miss this place, so i'll try to be active again.

Ahh, hey Tank! :)

Grah, no... She was in I.C.U with liver failure for over two weeks. Then she was transferred to the hospice, where my father , sister and I watched her pass. I was just having an extra tough time because aside from my mom, dad, & sis, I hate my family. They were being obnoxious and religious the entire time. Luckily my mom was wanted to be cremated, so I am handling that this week. No funeral service, thank goodness. X_x...
But i'm okay. I'm sad, but my dad surpringly helped me through the last few weeks.
