2. I have a few-month old son and I was soooo naive about the difficulty in having a kid

I'm sure that the things that make him difficult now are the things that will help him become an exceptional person down the road . He's a cute little guy. But he's had colic and the first few weeks were horrible, as you can imagine.

11 months sound very good. I'm sure his sleeping pattern is pretty good at that stage. Lack of sleep has been a major trouble for me.

For us, it got significantly better when he was 3 months old, and then he has been sleeping long stretches at night (10-12 hrs) since he was about 7 months old. There is a light at the end of the tunnel I barely slept the first three months and then was up a couple times a night until 6/7 months because I was nursing.

Right now he sleeps 12-13 hrs a night and naps twice a day, so I have my sleep back, and time to do chores and read. He also laughs and smiles a lot now. There is nothing as heart warming as a giggle from a little baby (in my world anyway).

1. I have a Jack Russell Terrier named Shiner. He is 2.5 years old and does agility courses for fun - he's never competed.

I am sure, in the current climate, a colony would have a priest, an imam and a rabbi. In close quarters, it would be a dangerous combination .

People, and in particular tubbyman. This is not a discussion thread. If a person reveals something that you would like to investigate further start a general thread on the subject. For example 'How do gay Christians reconcile their faith and sexuality?' which would be a very interesting discussion in its own right and not derail this thread.

Sorry, not wanting to rock a boat - just interested. I know it's easy to come across as spiky. Aside from that, peoples statements and views are interesting and will provoke debate - I'll just re-channel it I guess.

Abortion is legal here - where do you live?
How do you cope with the dichotomy of being gay and christian?
In less than 50 words how would legalising drugs make things better?
Do you accept that generalisations have their roots in truth?

I live in Louisiana. I believe abortion should be legal everywhere. Whether or not legalizing drugs will make things better is subjective, however wouldn't you agree people have the right to do to their own bodies as they please? I 'cope' by understanding that if most people took the time to actually interpret the bible from a rational and historical perspective, they would realize homosexuality isn't a sin, nor is any sexuality. And while yes, generalizations do have roots in truth you can understand how saying "Black people in louisiana are crime committing, poverty struck, uneducated people" (seeing as a majority of crimes here are commited by african american males, the average black male here makes a lower income than the avergae white male, and there is also the reputation of 'the ghetto' of being largely full of african americans) would get offensive and how it would be illogical to take the statistics of the norm and apply it to all. I.e. it's illogical to go from "A majority of X do Y" to "X does Y".

(excuse my ignorance here) Is abortion illegal in Louisiana? If so, can someone just hop in a car and go to a neighboring state?

I quite like the idea of legalised drugs - I suppose it'd have to happen on a global scale for it to work though?

Generalisations  - I cant really discuss as it's laid back here    - interesting though, I'm from a mixed heritage family so I'm neither one way or the other, I just like figures to look at.

Here goes nothing.

1. I'm a europhile, lived in the UK for 2 years and really want to go back.
2. I used to think I was a musician, writing songs and playing in bands.
3. Some of the best times of my life have been when I was in Anglican church choirs. I've just moved to a larger city with my family, and will join up again (hopefully) in time for the Easter services.
4. I an autodidact. Fiercely, proudly, probably naively so.
5. I love to try and solve the world's problems over a few beers.
6. I smoke a pipe very rarely, but wish I could more. I really enjoy it and recommend to all.
7. My wife and I have an atypical marriage agreement. Closer to a non-profit than anything else.

[10] There's still so much that hasn't been done...........for reincarnation to be true would please me no end, but it is a deam only. By next century [possibly sooner] science will be able to regulate the aging process and we will live much longer lives if we want. By then we may be terraforming Mars.
