I still plan on going, unless Trump decides to invade Morocco.

Bruce, given the new Trump war, I assume that an abundance of caution might torpedo your plans for Spain, Morocco, etc.

Today is Texas Independence Day. On March 2, 1936, a group of delegates from various towns in Mexican Texas met in a small town called Washington-on-the Brazos and declared independence from Mexico. Four days later, on March 6, the Alamo fell, and things did not look so great. But on April 21, 1836, the Texas forces under Sam Houston defeated Mexican President and General Santa Anna at the the battle of San Jacinto, near modern day Houston. The Republic of Texas lasted almost 10 years until it joined the United States and became a state in 1946.

Today, I wish we could win independence from MAGA Republicans, but that seems harder than defeating the Mexicans.

People whose opinions (not government people) I trust say that this excursion will wrap up in a few weeks. They think that is is another distraction from the Epstein Files. Concerning that one person wields this kind of power.

All the bleating from MAGA about Trump being different, not one of those warmongers. Now for the most part they're happy to cheer on his war. The principles they claim to believe in are meaningless--whatever the deteriorating shit-heel does is wonderful to them regardless of how much it contradicts previous talking points. A ground invasion next? Don't completely rule out the possibility. How this shakes out is anybody's guess.

The Persians have already attempted harm to the Arab contingent around the strait of Hormuz. Considerable parts of the worlds oil supply moves through that body of water which the Iranians can control.  That is a starter for influencing the world economy.

Just one more block out of the geopolitical Jenga game, where the US will continue to lose support.
