As a graduate of Baylor School of Law, I'm a Baylor sports fan - my parents and several relatives went to Baylor, so I've been a fan my entire life. This has been a good year for Baylor, sports-wise. Our quarterback won the Heisman trophy, our men's basketball team is in the top 10, and we have great softball, baseball, tennis, golf and track teams. But the pride of our school is the women's basketball team.  Number 1 in the nation, and undefeated at 29-0, we are on track to win the national championship, thanks mainly to our superb coach, Kim Mulkey.  It's pretty rare that we succeed at this level, so I'm just sayin' - "Go Bears."

I know that sports is probably not a big deal on this forum, but the sports fans will understand.

That all sounds very impressive. What sports did you do while you were there?

For I second I misheard you and thought you'd said "Go bare".

I was there for law school, so organized sports were behind me.  In high school I started on the football (American) team, and in my undergraduate years in college I played intramural football  - I'm a sports fan, but was never good enough to make it on an actual college team.

In the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Women's Basketball Championship, the score for the Baylor Lady Bears was Baylor 83 - Georgia Tech 68.  Baylor actually led by 31 when it's starters sat down with 6 minutes to go.  Tech kept its best players in and closed the gap against Baylor's subs.  It was actually a rout.

Brittney Griner threw down a two-handed dunk and hung on the rim.  Pretty cool.  Here it is.

Congrats to your alma mater. I hope they can win the championship, seeing as I don't already have a team I'm pulling for in this competition.

Baylor Lady Bears win their NCAA National Semifinals game over the Stanford Cardinal, 59-47.  They face the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Tuesday night for the national championship.  If they win, they will be the first US college team, men or women, to have a 40-0 season.

The Baylor Lady Bears completed their perfect season tonight with a National Championship win over Notre Dame, 80-61.  It was a dominant performance by the best female player in basketball, Brittney Griner.
