American football fans are probably few and far between on this forum, but I'd like to put in a plug for Robert Griffin III for the Heisman Trophy.  He's from Baylor University in Waco, TX, my law school alma mater.  He led them to their first 9 win season in several decades. For what it's worth.

I used to follow American Football a lot. Was a Bears fan  ;D

I assume you mean the professional team in Chicago.  Baylor University is also "the Bears".

Correct!

Da Bears.

I am a huge football fan, mainly college football. I think that the Heisman has turned in to a joke, because it ends up being the guy with the best stats that is on a good team, not the best player as the trophy states. As it turns out, I think the best player in college football this year is indeed RGIII. Early in the season, he had more touchdown passes than he did incompletions. That's just retarded.

However, Andrew Luck is the likely Heisman winner, though I wouldn't put it past the SEC bias (and the fact his team is in the Natty) and watch Mathieu win it as a defensive player. I hope not though.

I enjoy American Football, don't watch it as much as I use to due to the length of the game (the amount of adverts is ridiculous) and the time its broadcast on British TV but if I can catch a Sunday evening game I will watch it. Never really followed a team as I just enjoy watching the games that I can, though I do usually prefer watching games involving the Packers, Steelers, Colts, and Patriots. Never watched any NCAA games though, never really seen the appeal.

Don't know how it is over the pond but here seemingly every ad during football games is for 1 of 3 things:
1. Beer
2. Electronics (usually phones)
3. Erectile dysfunction medicines.

On the sports channels its usually: Betting, beer, sports drinks, sporting products, and phone adverts.

Unfortunately, I'm a Miami Dolphins fan. When I was a kid in the '80s, it was great watching Dan Marino dismantle opposing defenses. However, for the past eight or so years, it's been hard not to look away.

As far as college ball, my Alma Mater is U of F, so I guess I am somewhat of a Gators fan. Tebow definitely deserved to win the Heisman when he did, and probably should have won it twice. The guy's a great motivator, but his preaching can get pretty annoying.

I agree that Andrew Luck's probably going to win it this year. He'll definitely be drafted #1 overall -- unfortunately not by the Dolphins, as they blew their Suck for Luck campaign with a streak of recent wins.  ;D

It's official - Robert Griffin III (RG3) of my alma mater Baylor has won the Heisman Trophy.  He's the first Baylor player ever to win it.  The Heisman goes to the best collegiate football player.  I know that you are all excited about this.

The right guy won. He was a step above every body else that made it to New York. Well deserved for RGIII
