The universe is a cold, uncaring void. The key to happiness isn't a search for meaning, it's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually you'll be dead!

The Pink Panther Strikes Back.  Commonly considered the best of the Panther movies.  And now one from the movie called Not the Worst Movie Ever Made:

"If you'll notice the arterial nature of the blood coming from the hole in my head, you can assume that we're all having a real lousy day."

Ugh... Waterworld.

Actually saw a pre-screening of it and filled out comment cards about 2 months prior to release.

'fraid not!

... ok, guess it's my turn:

QuoteOn this first day of a new century we humbly beg forgiveness and dedicate these last forests of our once beautiful nation to the hope that they will one day return and grace our foul earth. Until that day may God bless these gardens and the brave men who care for them.

That sounds like something from Silent Running.

Correct!  You're up...

I can think of only two films in which the following quote appears. I will accept either one.

"All God's children got shoes."

Totally stumped on this.

Me too.  I know it's a gospel song but I've no idea which movies it's been in.

OK, I guess it was too obscure. The movie in which that line definitely occurs is called The Defiant Ones. As for the other, I did some research (watched it, of course) and it seems my memory was faulty; it's alluded to in two Marx Brothers films, Duck Soup and A Day at the Races (I thought it was in the second).

So from too hard to too easy:

"Don't look now, but there's one man too many in this room and I think it's you!"
"Religion is fundamentally opposed to everything I hold in veneration — courage, clear thinking, honesty, fairness, and above all, love of the truth."

I'm almost certain Goucho Marx said it.  Duck Soup?
