I know that sounds familiar -- Dune?  Was it one of Patrick Stewart's lines?

QuoteGurney Halleck: Shield Practice.
Paul: Gurney, we had practice this morning. I'm not in the mood.
Gurney Halleck: Not in the mood? Mood's a thing for cattle and loveplay, not fighting!
Paul: I'm sorry Gurney.
Gurney Halleck: Not sorry enough.

Gurney would have given him a good scar if he'd fought a jot below his ability.

"If you'd fought one whit below your ability I'd have given a good scar to remind you!"

Nice one Cats. That's not your usual cinematic diet is it? It's my favourite film, and other than the StarWars hexology is the film I've seen the most.
I can't wait until my kids are old enough to enjoy it (if ever) so I can see it more...

"My name is John Johnson, but everyone here calls me Vicky."

(From my all time favorite movie.  If you know it, immediate respect and affection your way.)

So I Married an Axe Murderer.  I knew a guy once named John Johns (his mom's maiden name) Johnson, we just called him Jack tho.

From my favorite movie:  "Here I am, Frankie.  I finally made it."

84 Charing Cross Road, starring Anthony Hopkins!

From a favourite movie of mine:

"All of life is a coming home. Salesmen, secretaries, coal miners, beekeepers, sword swallowers, all of us. All the restless hearts of the world, all trying to find a way home."

Sounds like a Hugh Grant movie. Love Actually?

Damn, I said jot.
I deserve to live out my life in a pain amplifier.

Shut the fuck up Donny!!
I did not watch my friends die face down in the muck....

I love The Big Lebowski. That movie has so many quotable lines. I need to watch it now.
Prayers that need no answer now, cause I'm tired of who I am
You were my greatest mistake, I fell in love with your sin
Your littlest sin.

Assim-miaow-lation?

Living out your life in a pain amplifier is insufficient.
The Tleilaxu will be commissioned to produce a stream of gholas from your cells which will live out their lives in pain amplifiers or as toys for their Baron Harkonen gholas.

Assimiaowlation - the assimilation of feline entity.
(unrelated to pain amplifiers or Dune - just thought Amicale-of-Scissorlegs might be a worthy ally.

Ooh, thats mean... yet beautifully conceived...

(Tleilaxu and ghola - had to google those. (Wow, you actually stuck with the series to book 5??! I got to 'Children of Dune' before the Saphoo juice started leaking from my brain)).

Oh I read much further than book five, I read on even after Frank was dead and his water was reclaimed for the tribe.  I read of the Butlerian Jihad where those such as you were thrown down and the prohibition of all thinking machines was founded.
