Well I am officially a student again. I went and enrolled at Bradford College today and will start full time for 30 weeks on a 'top up' that will give me a BSc in Business computing, if I get all the way through! It was an interesting day. There were 30 people enrolling, all asian, bar 3, and all male, bar 3, there was one white lady who may have felt a little left out!

Hurray!  I'm sure you will enjoy it.  How many of them are "mature" students?

3, including me. But only one of them is at level 3 with me, the other is starting at level 1. So at the moment it looks like There may only be 2 on the course! There is 16 hours of contact time each week so that sounds good too. Given I have had next to none at the OU (which is of course the nature of the beast in a distance learning environment.)

True.  They listen well but don't really hold up their end of the conversation all that well.

"...they still reckon, even the RAC I remember once saying, that the most economical form of motoring is to buy an old car, taxed and mot'd, for less than £400 and even if it only lasts a year you have had more than your moneys worth, and if you also run it on LPG or oil as most old diesels will do, being that's what they were designed to run on, even better then as petrol is not likely to get cheaper, old Jags, Mercs, and unpopular cheap as chips 4x4's are good targets, but, that's from a UK perspective..."

"...a wise caveat indeed, and gone are my days of wanting the latest thing, except where is this flying car already..." as Jats curiously turns all Yiddish "...imagine that, all zooming about, the ants getting their wings en mass, and while I can understand it in the States and the Australian outback having to travel a distance to the local store, here in Europe its a two minute walk as a rule, often due to our often lamented immigration policies of the past, yet how often would people be nipping to the shops if it was literally a hop and a jump in your flying machine, to get your daily bread & milk, like it's hard to resist even now getting off your fat ass car keys in hand, still, I digress, I still want one of these, classic or not..."

I totally agree.... this will keep me from having to spend more than the price of the used truck I'm trying to get to fix the truck I have now (needs new engine, fuel injection system, computer, and AC, price tag on that is obscene).  It's better on gas mileage, has AC, new engine/trany, and is big enough to haul a trailer cross country.  Not to mention, I can put the dogs in the back instead of up front with me when visiting the vet
