It snows too much here in lake effect country. 2 feet on the ground and it's still coming. Key West in April. I can't wait.
I shaved off my moustache for Abe's birthday. My daughter thinks I look like a cross between a demented Amish guy and Captain Ahab. It will grow back.

Tonight I am thinking about how excited I am that my Kindle 2 has shipped and that I am going to hop on over to Amazon and start picking out some goodies!!  Yippee!!  :banna:

I was on "order" for the original Kindle and then got an email a few weeks ago that I'd been upgraded to the Kindle 2, it's the same price and a little sleeker....I hear the 3 is going to be out in 2010.  I'm already loading up. (Now I'll really never leave the house. Successfully working my way to hermit status.)

Today I've been selfishly thinking about how much work this American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 is causing me and how I am going to be working 16 hour days through the end of next week to get into compliance and actually get payroll done without being in violation of any one part of the new regulations that are effective immediately even though some of the implementation tools and guidelines will not be posted until mid-March.

That story proves that lying for God is not a sin  ;) .

Right now, I am in the library at my school, studying for my biology midterm on Friday. Today's biology lecture was on stem cell research and human cloning, which I find very interesting. It got me thinking, can clone cats and dogs to replace the grieving pet owner's lost, or even clone humans to replace dead children? Or what about cloning organs so humans with a possible need of of a transplant when they get older, would be able to live some years longer?

I'm sorry to hear that.  Poor little beast.  What is her prognosis?

I'm sorry to hear that.  Poor little beast.  What is her prognosis?

Right now we're focusing on reducing her inflammation and stiffness.  We're also waiting for some bloodtest results to show whether her kidney function has gotten worse since last year.  She's been with us for 9 years and she was at least 2 or 3 when we took her in, so that makes her a geriatric feline.

She snubs all the special formulary cat foods we've tried to give her in the past, so I put her new meds in the food she usually likes only to have her snub that, too.  I don't want to shove pills down her throat or subject her to daily injections...hopefully she will start cooperating.

Take care of that kitty, Momma! Make her feel all better.   :)

Poor kitty.

Have you tried crushing her meds and putting them in milk (they have special cat forumla milk if you don't want to give her real milk)?

You could also crush them with a tiny bit of water into a paste and put small amounts on her nose till it is all gone (like putting peanut butter on a dog's nose).  It would annoy her but not nearly as much as it would if you had to force feed her the pills.
