Wait, am I the only one who doesn't celebrate xmas?

No there's you and that Grinch fella'
And The Asmo. Or was He who you were referring to, Bruno?

I was invited to a party, so I have to go now, but all of you will be on my mind tonight when I take my first sip of wine. Well...I don't think any of you will be on my mind when I take my last.  ;D

I don't celebrate it, but I do participate to a certain extent -- I participate in eggnog, in buying small gifts, in listening to carols, in decorating my home festively:

and I especially participate in baking cookies:

I cherry-pick the holiday season for all it's worth.

Yes, because not celebrating xmas automatically means i'm such a mean spirited person. I see. That's nice.

You say that like mean spiritedness is a bad thing.
What's wrong with the Grinch? I like the Grinch.
My wife and daughter have gone North 500km to spend Christmas with her mother, I could have gone or spent the day at my brother's place but I didn't, probably because I'm mean spirited.  I went for a long coast walk and a swim, 30 degrees C.
It's quite nice when no one's about, you can cook what you want and make lots of noise.
I haven't worn my Grinch tee shirt yet this year, that'd be weird wouldn't it, sitting on you own wearing a Grinch shirt?  :-\

I don't celebrate it either but as all my friends and family do I have to partake in it to various degrees. If I moved to a country that didn't celebrate it or if none of my friends or family did I wouldn't have anything to do with it.

Well I've finally buried any hopes of being a vet. I nearly puked when I had to treat an infected puncture wound on a horse at work today.

Well better to learn that now than after you've spent a pile of money.

This.

Although, if you really had your heart set on it, you may be able to work through it.  Everyone has a breaking point as far as gag reflexes go.  There is a sort of meditative state you learn to enter where you kinda detach from what it is and see only what needs to be done and you just act.  Ive been there so many, many times.

I was mostly being sarcastic.  ;D I haven't wanted to be a vet for years, it just isn't for me haha. Most of the time I can handle gross stuff like that but today the smell got to me a bit.

Tip - a little menthol camphor ointment like Vick's dabbed under the nose helps with masking some nasty odors.

Buddy, the animals need you. We need you to care for them.  You can get past the discomfort. Please do. (hugs)

The Asmo wanted to be a forensic entomologist. Didn't for the lack of opportunity more than gag reflexes though...

I wanted to be a tree surgeon, but I couldn't stand the sight of sap. ;)

My mother was crossing the road, fell down and broke her leg. She also ruptured a few ligaments and will have to operate. :( Thing is, since health services are excellent in Brazil she'll have to wait more than 15 days.

Oh, Fernanda's poor old mum.  :o Do you mean 'only' fifteen days?  That seems rather a long time to me.
