My Sunday so far.

This morning I went to the Rhein-Main Thermen near Frankfurt. Spend most of the time in the sauna's and the Turkish bath. That area of the Thermen is a textile free zone (children below the age of 16, can only enter when they are accompanied by an adult). Then I lied on down for awhile and started to read my latest purchase (Stephen King's "Duma Key"). After two chapters I decided then to go for a swim. 10 rounds later, I had enough of it so I went down the water shute (which is great fun for a big kid like me). Went home after three hours, had a late lunch and woke up my wife. Talked with her on the phone for approx. one hour (its great to have an international flat rate!), watched some TV (Mythbusters,  Eureka, the news and weather forecast (wet and cold)).The it was time for my evening dinner (2 toasted breads with smoked salmon followed by some sliced pineapple as dessert). Switched on my PC to work on my private Java open source project. Finished coding and testing approx. 15 minutes ago, so I thought it was a good idea then to surf the web. So here I am, but I'll stay here for just a few more minutes and then go to bed.

Today I seriously need someone to know Java. So if someone does, please tell me!  :brick:

Thanks, Cat, but that's not the Java expertise I require. I need Java the programming language, not Java the island  :brick:

I'm a Java developer, so if you need any help just ask.

Oh, you can so save this Asmodean from drowning - well, at least from a major head ache. I'll send you a PM a bit later today. Lecture calls right now so I has to run  :hail:

I just had an epiphany...

Hannibal is on right now, and this dude has crazy goat horn tatoos on his back, and you're supposed to simply take it as a symbol of evil, after all, the devil is typically depicted with goat horns. So somewhere along the line, goats got associated with evil and symbolized as such because of their horns...

So what behavioral traits were being observed here to draw such an analogy?

Generally, goats are independent and self-reliant (which is why their evolutionary path has gifted them horns!), where as sheep are obedient and very dependent upon a leader. Well, Jesus made reference to his people as sheep (oh, the irony already!) and those who were not of his flock, goats. Consequently, goats, and their horns that are used for aggression and independence have become a symbol of evil...

Let's see that again: Independence and self reliance has become a symbol of evil because you have no need to follow a leader.

Wow, Jesus, that's pretty #$@*& up...
"In our tenure of this planet, we have accumulated dangerous, evolutionary baggage -- propensities for aggression and ritual, submission to leaders, hostility to outsiders, all of which puts our survival in some doubt. We have also acquired compassion for others, love for our children, a desire to learn from history and experience, and a great, soa

What's been in my mind is the fact that there are anti-smoking ads, but not pro-smoking ads. Pardon my language, but I think this is asinine. There is supposed to be a freedom of press in this country, but I see nothing free about it when stuff like this happens.

Wheres the language you were talking about? You promise foul langage then you let me down. For shame for shame.  (asinine dispite the way it sounds really isn't even vaguely vulgar.)

FYI pro smoking ads for the most part have been illegalised in the US which is why you don't see them. If I remember right I think they are only allowed in magizines whos target demographic are already adults. ie; Playboy, Maxim, Cosmo.

There's an advert in the UK that shows a young girl getting killed at 40MPH as op[posed to injured at 30MPH so advocating driving more considerately for other road users (including pedestrians especially young children) in built up areas ... do I take your comments to imply that you'd consider it OK for someone to mount an advertising campaign promoting faster, inconsiderate driving in such conditions?
