I did a presentation on database segmentation to 650 people once. I loved it  ;D

BCE - That's hilarious!  I'm glad your brother was able to soldier through it!  LOL

Tank - You remind me of my husband.  I swear he became a teacher just so he would have a captive audience to talk at every day.   ;D

I'd love to be a teacher but I don't have the ideal temperament for it. When I lose my temper (which is rare) I lose it badly and that's not a good combination with kids about.

I don't know how he does it.  He is going back to high school next year to do the IB program (I'm super proud of him for getting picked for this) but this past year he taught 8th grade (13-14 year olds.)  I would NOT have the patience to endure 60-ish 13 year olds all day every day.

Thanks for the tips, guys. :)

Well, the fact that I'm posting here now means that I lived through it :D What surprised me a bit was just how anxious other people seemed to be, especially since the majority if not all of them are way more at ease socially than I am. I could almost see their vocal cords tightnening under the stress. And BCE - LOL about your brother! :D Maybe the fact that there were 5 teachers sitting in the room judging everyone made everyone a bit edgy.

Pick one person in the audience who makes eye contact with you and present to them, forget the rest. It's not ideal but it works! It's better if you can flit from person to person while considering each interaction as a personal interaction.

Personally I have such a large ego that no audience is big enough  :D

Heh, I know that won't work for me, eye contact definitely triggers an involuntary and incomfortable flight response in me. Don't be fooled by my wordiness here, I'm a very shy person in real life. ;D

Sorry to hear that Tank. Some eAmphetamines at my eParty will see you right! You gotta get in the mood for Dad-dancing!

I'm just off to see my mates band, Zoidberg - awesomely tight, quality 70s classic rock covers band. I'm going to drink some ale and get a little squiffy. A fine start to what promises to be an epic weekend!

Buddy

I have two people who want to look at the Vinn. One on Sunday and the other next weekend. I have to admit, I will be sad to see him go. I took him out on the trails yesterday and had a blast. It reminded me why I bought him in the first place. It's amazing how much he calms down when we get out of the arena and relax for a bit.

Buddy, fantastic news that someone wants to see Vinnie! You'll be sorry to see him go, but if someone kind is able to take him, all the better. :)

Maria... *hug!* man, do hormones suck sometimes. I understand. I once got teary eyed because a little kid pulled a LEAF off a tree. And then he stared at me wide-eyed, said 'uh, sorry lady....' and crept cautiously away.

Good news, Buddy!  I hope he'll find a happy home.

Oh, Maria ... what you need is a nice hot whisky and lemon.
