I think I should get into House and Bones before the religious people have a fit and raise hell to get them canceled.

House will never get canceled. He'll just trick them into keeping the show on.

If House got cancelled I'd probably throw my TV out the window.
How big is the smallest fish in the pond? You catch one hundred fishes, all
of which are greater than six inches. Does this evidence support the hypothesis
that no fish in the pond is much less than six inches long? Not if your

I know, I am having a little House withdrawal right now, it's usually on for five hours on Sundays on into my bedtime and it appears USA has changed the Sunday night line-up!!  What???  I may need to write a letter......

I like to watch it with my laptop up on google so I can google every weird disease they bring up to see if I have any of the symptoms, hehe, my psychiatrist hates this I am sure!

"House withdrawal", perfect way to express it. I hate the holidays becasue House goes into a two-month hiatus (as far as new episodes).

If you like House, I'd highly recommend reading the Shelrock holmes stories if you haven't. House is based on Holmes (House lives on 221 whatever st, Sherlcok on 221 baker; House=Homes=Holmes, Wilson=Watson, Holmes was addicted to cocaine, etc. I loved the episode when House was in that eclectic shop looking for a new cane and he puts the Shelrock-style pipe in his mouth. Blatant fanservice.)

What's also interesting is that the general perception of Holmes is a bit false, kind of like the way the general internal "model" of Nixon is closer to the caricatures than what he actually looks like. I had read a few Holmes stories in the past before House and enjoyed them a lot, but House made me want to revisit the inspirational source in greater depth. What I found is that we tend to think of Holmes as kind of stuffy and "proper", and in fact he's very Bohemian and walks the fence between upholder of the law and criminal. You know how House will sometimes ignore his legal obligations to help out a patient when he feels its justified, Holmes does that quite a bit, too, and even helped a murderer escape the country once because he agreed with the person's motivations.

Yeah, I'd highly recomend Sherlock Holmes (also, I'm not assuming you haven't read Holmes, just plugging it in case you haven't becasue they shouldn't be missed, especially not by a House fan)

I had no idea!  The only thing I know of Sherlock Holmes is the bit I've seen on Star Trek NG when Data would play him in the holo-deck!  I will definitely check them out, I'm in need of some new reading material, thanks!

No, but it looks interesting. So far I've only read one non-canonical Sherlock holmes book, "the 7 percent solution" (in which dr. freud helps sherlock overcome his addiction).

I just watched an episode of House M.D. tonight. Very awesome show!!!!!!!

There is now a reason for me to turn my tele on more often.

And I was also thinking about Sherlock Holmes and now I see all this! Wow.

Isn't it? I originally avoided it for a while becasue of my previous experiences of medical dramas being overly serious and "sterile"; I was pleasantly surprised, I love shows that can't be placed into a certain genre.

I am a little disappointed with some of the drop in writing quality during the past two seasons (though it seems to be improving a bit), but even a bad episode of House is entertaining enough. Can't really afford to be picky in the era of "reality" televison.

Strangely, anyone else notice kind of a "split-personality" trait about Fox? I bash Fox all the time (its own shows do  ), but when it comes down to it they have such an awesome line-up. House, Bones, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Fringe, 24, Lie to Me, but then they just infuriate me with their biased news coverage and Bill O'Reilly, but damn, even he's entertaining. The network tagline shoudl be: "Fox - You Feel Guilty, But You'll Be Back, You Whore".

You are too funny Miss Anthrope!  I honestly didn't know that these were Fox shows since I am a habitual re-run watcher due to not being able to pay attention to what night shows come on. (Must be years of going to school at night).  I need to set my U-verse up to record House and Family Guy on Fox, and I am really starting to like Bones, not just because David is so yummy but because I think she is wearing him down.  Looks like there is some good one-stop-shopping there.

I HATE reality tv except for Cops (especially the 80s version) since it just cracks me up and I sometimes watch The Real Housewives of Orange County because it's so ridiculous it's entertaining.

Right now I am thinking working for Monk would be about the most entertaining job ever!  I wish I was that little blonde chippy and that it was real of course.

Oh, and House marathan on USA tomorrow night, man I hope it's not all of the ones I've seen 100 times!

Ah, Monk, another one of the few shows I usually make an effort to watch. Yeah, I could totally put-up with working for him for the entertainment value alone.

I too watch House like crazy! Love the show. Did anyone see Hugh Laurie on Saturday Night Live a few weeks back? That was hilarious! They had a skit where there are two women with thick New York accents interview him and make him say a bunch of words in his accent and go crazy over it. It makes me laugh so hard every time I see it.
Family Guy is also a great show, although I think it's really hit-or-miss lately on whether it will be really funny or not.

Has anybody here seen "Arrested Development" which was on Fox for about 3 years and ended a couple years back? One of the funniest shows ever! It was a shame that it was pulled. I have all the episodes on my computer and watch them "religiously".

Also, I would just like to jump in and recommend "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" which is on FX. It is hands down the funniest show I've ever seen! I would recommend not watching it with kids, religious people, or anyone who may be easily offended by jokes ranging from racism to abortion to underaged drinking, and that's just the first few episodes. I think a free thinker forum can handle these topics though.  ;)

I tried watching Arrested Development a couple times but since I didn't know the characters well enough I didn't get into it.  I saw the little fella from Juno and Superbad there though, I may have to try again!
