Quote from: "Pineapple" So yesterday I asked my gym teacher if I could call up my mother before my gym period started (it's my final period), because I was hoping to go to a study group for a large as fuck test I was having the next day; I needed some good group cramming. So my teacher told me to go ahead, but not for more than 2 minutes. So I called up my mum and I was speaking to her... in good old Cymraeg.

So I was all like "hwyl, dw i'n dy garu di!", and I let her go, and it'd already been 7 minutes or so (most of the time was spent arguing with my mother about being able to stay after school and then the rest was spent structuring a plan) and I was absolutely late for changing into my gym uniform. Instead of yelling at me for being late, my teacher started yelling at me for speaking in Welsh because she couldn't understand what I was saying and she started accusing me of saying rude things about her in Welsh.

A) I'm a High School freshman!
B) Yes, my gym teacher is female. Most gym teachers I've had have been female, actually.
C) Welsh-American!

Hahaha, okay, I get it. I knew you were entering your freshman year, but I thought it was college. That's weird about the gym teacher, though. She come in the locker room?

You first-generation Welsh-American or what?

I'm thinking about investing in a company that generates electricity. Solely from an investment standpoint, it looks really good right now. And I learned that a significant proportion of their electricity is generated from nuclear power and they are increasing it. I thought this was a good thing. No carbon emissions etc. But I did some research and it seems that at current rates of mining we'll run out of uranium in about 100 years, less if we ramp up nuclear power. Hmm. Don't want to invest in a company that's plundering limited natural resources. On the other hand, it would be awesome to be a partial owner of some nuclear reactors; then I'd have nuclear powers! lol

Actually, I've had a change of heart. No uranium = no nuclear weapons. Lets use the uranium for something useful instead of killing people =).

Good point.  While there are technologies which can recycle nuclear waste to make power to some extent it is better to use it up for power than to have it sitting around to make bombs.  It's not like uranium is a natural resource that other animals need (like trees)....use it up.

You cant plant trees (or seeds) but you can't plant uranium.  A little side note I was reading an article linked to reddit where it was saying that coal energy produces more radiation (in terms of waste) then nuclear power.  Anyway I agree use it for power not for bombs.

A close family member retired from a uranium enrichment plant after working there for 30 years. Now they're living comfortably into old age. Uranium's been good to my family. I don't mind it so much.

It's the assholes who see it as a weapon that I don't like.

Does anyone else think "oh fuck" when they see a new believer on the forum or do I only do that since I end up having to deal with them when they don't behave?

I do it too.  Most believers come here to show their self-righteous asses like they are holding some paradise over our heads thats right out of our reach and try to laugh at us and pity us because they have it and not us.  They don't seem to understand we don't care they hold some make believe place over our heads and they leave after looking like a douche but don't learn their lessons.  I guess i think, "oh fuck" because anything I post to them might as well be deleted since its just as effective as not typing anything at all.  Most of the time I just want to be a complete dick back to them but its a losing battle since if I act like an ass it makes atheists look worse and if I act nice then they get to be complete dicks to us.

Howdy y'all. Its my first exam in thirty-five minutes, my preparation has been at best inadequate, so I may have to rederive much of modern chemistry in the coming few hours....I'll come back and procrastinate some more afterwards before my maths exam tomorrow....

Last cross country meet of the season was today. Not a single one that we had has been in snow/rain or bellow about 40 degrees (F).
